We all pray that we never have to discharge our firearms in defense of our lives or the lives of someone else. Hell, most of us pray we never even have to draw our firearms. Unfortunately, I’ve had to a couple of times, though you have no idea how thankful I am that I didn’t have to pull the trigger either time. In both cases, I was anything but cool and calm. Not internally, anyway. I had a million thoughts running through my head and my heart was racing. I was scared that everything was…

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson insists that the reason murder is on the rise in his city is Donald Trump’s refusal to spend billions of dollars on “gun violence prevention” programs across the United States, including in the Windy City. The biggest problem with that argument is that Chicago is an outlier, and homicides are down by nearly 20% this year nationwide.  Johnson doesn’t want to talk about things like Illinois’ SAFE-T Act, which puts many violent offenders out on the street without having to post any bail, or the law that requires judges to include…

BEIRUT (AP) — Hezbollah’s leader on Saturday criticized a framework agreement that Israel and Lebanon signed a day earlier to end months of conflict between the militant group and Israel, raising concerns about its effectiveness. Lebanon and Israel signed the deal in Washington on Friday without Hezbollah. The agreement links Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon to the Iran-backed militant group’s disarmament, something Hezbollah rejects. Several previous ceasefire agreements that Lebanon has negotiated with Israel since the outbreak of the latest Israel-Hezbollah war were never implemented on the ground. In a statement Saturday, Hezbollah leader Naim Kassem said his group will keep…

WASHINGTON (AP) — A gay rights activist is suing the Department of Defense to answer a simple question: Did Scouting America actually agree to ban transgender members in a deal with the Pentagon? James Dale, who filed a complaint in a New York City federal court Thursday, alleges that both sides have provided conflicting answers, while the Pentagon is refusing to release a copy of its agreement with the organization. The Pentagon made a deal with Scouting America in February that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said would refocus the organization away from diversity initiatives and other “woke” policies. Hegseth threatened…

The U.S. v. Hemani case is sending shockwaves across the country. The New Jersey Office of Attorney General commented on the opinion when queried about it and it’s — interesting. What a whirlwind couple of weeks in the United States with U.S. Supreme Court opinions flooding the halls of jurisprudence. Naturally, at Bearing Arms we’ve had our eyes cast on two cases ripe for opinions: U.S. v. Hemani and Wolford v. Lopez. The case less controversial to more progressive jurisdictions was Hemani, dealing with so-called “unlawful” users of drugs. No press release came from New Jersey…

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran launched a drone assault targeting Bahrain while a ship in the Strait of Hormuz separately came under attack Saturday, likely Tehran’s response to overnight airstrikes by the United States. The attacks across the Persian Gulf show the danger of the Iran war again spinning out of control, even after Iran and the U.S. reached an interim deal to try and agree on a final accord to end the conflict. The U.S. had launched its airstrikes in response to an Iranian drone attack on a ship trying to get out of the strait on…

Melissa Diana Simmons was contracted by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide care for an elderly Vietnam War veteran. Instead, Simmons and her boyfriend, James Patrick Brown, drained more than $100,000 from the victim’s bank account, forged his checks and left him in a state of physical and mental disarray. On Tuesday, Simmons, 50, from Boones Mill, Va., pleaded guilty to forgery of government checks. Simmons and Brown were both charged in 2025, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). ‘Care’ Turns to Fraud Based on evidence obtained by police and court records, Simmons met the victim,…

A missing hiker was found dead on Wednesday in Glacier National Park, and officials said his injuries were consistent with a bear encounter. Search and rescue crews found the body around noon on May 6, about 2.5 miles up the Mt. Brown Trail. The victim was about 50 feet off the trail in a densely wooded area with downed timber, according to Glacier National Park. Wildlife and law enforcement personnel are now assessing the area for bear activity and any ongoing public safety concerns. The National Park Service said it was withholding the victim’s identity until 72 hours after next…

A great shooter game does not always need a huge campaign to be fun. Sometimes, the games that stay in people’s minds the longest are the ones finished in a single evening. With these short shooter games, there is less filler, fewer slow stretches, and much less time spent waiting for the next exciting moment. These are games that get moving quickly, introduce their ideas early, hand over the weapons, and allow players to start shooters almost immediately. Instead of asking players to spend hours learning complicated systems, these games put the focus where it belongs: movement, gunplay, and smart…

An Ohio jury convicted a former Franklin County, Ohio sheriff’s deputy of reckless homicide in the 2020 killing of a concealed carry holder who was shot as he was entering his home, but deadlocked on a more significant charge of murder.  This was the second trial for Jason Meade after a jury also failed to come to a unanimous verdict in 2024, which led to a second prosecution for the death of Casey Goodson. Goodson was shot and killed in December of 2020, and Meade never disputed that he pulled the trigger. Instead, the longtime law…

As expected, the Minneapolis City Council has unanimously adopted an ordinance banning the sale and possession of “assault weapons”, ammunition magazines that can hold more than ten rounds, binary triggers, and unserialized firearms. The ordinance is completely unenforceable because of Minnesota’s firearm preemption law, but the MN Gun Owners Caucus has vowed to “immediately initiate legal action to challenge its validity in court,” as it’s done with a similar ordinance adopted by St. Paul council members.  In a letter to the Minneapolis City Council, MN Gun Owners Caucus General Counsel Rob Doar called the ordinance…

Advocates emphasized the bill is intended to address barriers created by military service rather than create a special entitlement. The military…

This article was originally published by Willow Tohi at Natural News.  HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced initiatives targeting SSRI antidepressants, which 16.6% of U.S. adults currently take. The plan emphasizes informed consent, tapering protocols, and non-pharmaceutical alternatives like psychotherapy and nutrition. Nearly half of Americans oppose federal restrictions on antidepressant prescribing, according to a 2025 survey of 30,000 adults. An FDA panel debated adding “black box” warnings for antidepressant use during pregnancy, citing potential fetal risks. The initiative builds on Trump-era mental health policies, including an executive order on psychedelic research. A prescription for change: Why HHS is…
