BEIRUT (AP) — Hezbollah’s leader on Saturday criticized a framework agreement that Israel and Lebanon signed a day earlier to end months of conflict between the militant group and Israel, raising concerns about its effectiveness. Lebanon and Israel signed the deal in Washington on Friday without Hezbollah. The agreement links Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon to the Iran-backed militant group’s disarmament, something Hezbollah rejects. Several previous ceasefire agreements that Lebanon has negotiated with Israel since the outbreak of the latest Israel-Hezbollah war were never implemented on the ground. In a statement Saturday, Hezbollah leader Naim Kassem said his group will keep…

WASHINGTON (AP) — A gay rights activist is suing the Department of Defense to answer a simple question: Did Scouting America actually agree to ban transgender members in a deal with the Pentagon? James Dale, who filed a complaint in a New York City federal court Thursday, alleges that both sides have provided conflicting answers, while the Pentagon is refusing to release a copy of its agreement with the organization. The Pentagon made a deal with Scouting America in February that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said would refocus the organization away from diversity initiatives and other “woke” policies. Hegseth threatened…

The U.S. v. Hemani case is sending shockwaves across the country. The New Jersey Office of Attorney General commented on the opinion when queried about it and it’s — interesting. What a whirlwind couple of weeks in the United States with U.S. Supreme Court opinions flooding the halls of jurisprudence. Naturally, at Bearing Arms we’ve had our eyes cast on two cases ripe for opinions: U.S. v. Hemani and Wolford v. Lopez. The case less controversial to more progressive jurisdictions was Hemani, dealing with so-called “unlawful” users of drugs. No press release came from New Jersey…

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran launched a drone assault targeting Bahrain while a ship in the Strait of Hormuz separately came under attack Saturday, likely Tehran’s response to overnight airstrikes by the United States. The attacks across the Persian Gulf show the danger of the Iran war again spinning out of control, even after Iran and the U.S. reached an interim deal to try and agree on a final accord to end the conflict. The U.S. had launched its airstrikes in response to an Iranian drone attack on a ship trying to get out of the strait on…

A 270-foot medium endurance cutter offloaded approximately 7,720 pounds of cocaine and 4,000 pounds of marijuana Friday at Port Everglades in Florida, amounting to more than $63 million in allegedly smuggled drugs. The service said Friday that the seized contraband resulted from three interdictions in international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean made by Coast Guard Cutter Bear, home-ported in Portsmouth, Va. They reflect a continuation of the service’s efforts to counter drug operations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, as part of Operation Pacific Viper. As roughly 80% of drug interdictions occur at sea, the Coast Guard works with entities…

The U.S. Virgin Islands don’t seem to consider themselves part of the United States. The reason I say that is that while it’s not a state, but a territory, it makes a lot of gun control moves that ignore the Second Amendment. Granted, a lot of states do so as well, so I probably shouldn’t jump to conclusions. The thing is, the governor there just passed a new gun control law that is, frankly, awful. Hypothetically, it was supposed to help gun owners, but it failed in almost every conceivable way, as Cam noted earlier…

A Marine Corps veteran and other advocates are warning that sections contained within major proposed legislation “will cause significant harm” to veterans, students, survivors and families. The criticism is tied to the comprehensive yet somewhat controversial Take Care of America’s Veterans Act (TCAVA) being deliberated in Congress, which has faced pushback correlated with budgeting, benefits, and purported negative repercussions on military service members with conditions including tinnitus and sleep apnea. The TCAVA introduced last week includes more than 60 veterans’ bills, such as the Major Richard Star Act, the Love Lives On Act, caregiver reforms, VA modernization initiatives and combat-injured…

Water shoes have one job: protect your feet without turning every river crossing, beach walk, or paddleboard session into a slip-and-slide. The best pairs grip slick rock, drain fast, dry quickly, and shield against sharp coral, hot sand, cold water, mosquitoes, and sun exposure. Over the past 12 months, lead tester Ryan Kempfer put five new water shoes through 30 paddling, rafting, beach, and river outings while continuing to test top performers from past seasons. A wildlife guide and lifelong outdoor enthusiast, he wore them on SUP and rafting missions on Wyoming’s Snake River and along riverbanks in Grand Teton…

The best women’s rain boots do much more than just keep water out. These boots provide the comfort, grip, and walkability needed to tackle the messiest parts of daily life. During our recent 12-month testing cycle, GearJunkie Editor Chris Kassar evaluated nine pairs of women’s rain boots across 40 distinct outings. To push this footwear to the limit, we waded directly into rivers, streams, and creeks. We logged 150 miles from Alaska’s sloppy spring season and muddy trails in the Tetons to rainy travel days in Washington, D.C., and soggy birding routes in Nebraska. We crowned the XTRATUF Salmon Sisters…

From Bonnie and Clyde to Anwar al-Awlaki, this hard-edged piece asks a nasty modern question: when does deadly force stop being controversial and start feeling inevitable? Bonnie, Clyde, and the Old-School Case for Violent Justice On 23 May 1934, a group of lawmen led by Texas Ranger Frank Hamer machinegunned Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow to death on a rural road in Bienville Parish in rural Louisiana. Their villainous gang of cutthroats had murdered nine police officers and four civilians during the course of their well-publicized reign of terror. At the time of his death, Barrow had sixteen outstanding warrants.…

The best women’s water shoes need to do more than survive a splash. Whether crossing creeks, paddling lakes, or hiking to swimming holes, they must grip wet ground, protect your feet, drain quickly, and stay comfortable all day. Over the past year, our team — led by GearJunkie Editor Chris Kassar — tested new models across wet hikes, river crossings, and SUP floats from Alaska to Yellowstone. We vetted them on slick docks, rocky creek beds, and hot trails to find which shoes truly perform in the real world. The Astral Brewer 3.0 earned best overall for its unmatched mix…

The vast majority of gun stores out there are small businesses run by law-abiding men and women who might not like the regulations they have to abide by, but they do so, if for no other reason than to stay open. As it stands, there’s a lot they have to do with regard to accountability unless they want the ATF to lower the boom on them. While trivial mistakes aren’t fatal anymore, there are still strict requirements for these stores, yet Delaware seems inclined to view them as insufficient. So, a bill is in the…

A familiar playbook is back and the firearm industry isn’t staying quiet about it. According to reporting and analysis from NSSF’s Lawrence G. Keane, Bloomberg-backed media outlets are once again pushing a “name-and-shame” narrative. This time targeting a major California gun retailer over a high-profile criminal case. The accusation? That Turner’s Outdoorsman is somehow responsible for firearms later tied to criminal activity. The problem? There’s no evidence the retailer did anything wrong. Keane points out that the firearms in question were sold legally, transferred only after the buyer completed ATF Form 4473, passed federal background checks through the FBI’s NICS…

You’ve heard about the importance of networking. How your network is your “sales force,” identifying opportunities for you in conversations you’re not privy to. Then why isn’t your network returning job leads? This question came to me recently from a Navy veteran. We’ll call him “Bob” here. He asked, “I am networking like crazy these days, reaching out to strangers, who share a military past, asking for help. Some let me pick their brains, others offer to review my resume, but no one has walked me into a job opening. Why aren’t they willing to do that?” To help him,…

Presently, we live in Roseville, a city of nearly 150,000 that has been called one of the country’s most livable cities. In many ways, California has been a paradise. The weather is…

When I was a kid, my mom always bought us the super healthy and nutritious whole grain wheat bread… and I hated it. I was one of those kids who always wanted plain white bread. And thirty years later, I still feel the same. Although I’ve developed a taste for wheat bread, I always go with white bread if I have a choice. Over the years, I’ve experimented with several recipes, and my current favorite is this Amish white bread recipe which I found on the Youtube channel, Pratt Family Homestead. There are only a few simple ingredients. Want to…
