Air Force veteran Tim Kirk didn’t expect to earn awards helping veterans, but he received a pretty big honor last week. The NFL Hall of Fame named Kirk one of its Awards of Character recipients for 2026 for his work supporting veterans’ needs through the Warrior Healing Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona. The award, a joint venture with USA Today and Payton Productions, was introduced this year to honor “everyday Hall of Famers,” community leaders who uphold the hall’s key values of commitment, courage, integrity, respect and honesty. Kirk, accompanied by his wife, Cathie Goodman, received the accolade from two…

A new nationwide survey conducted by Mission Roll Call suggests that most veterans believe the Department of Veterans Affairs is improving, even as concerns about staffing and continuity of care persist. The survey, which included more than 2,200 veterans, found that 81.7 percent of respondents said VA’s overall performance is either improving or holding steady. The survey also found that 77.8 percent said transparency has improved or remained consistent over the past year. Mission Roll Call CEO Jim Whaley, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, said in an interview that those numbers reflect real progress, particularly in how the VA communicates…

The White House’s border wall expansion is once again facing scrutiny over its environmental impact. Construction on an additional wall — located 150-200 feet inland of Arizona’s existing wall — had already drawn ire for its impacts on wildlife and Native American tribes. By building this secondary wall in a protected area of the Sonoran Desert, construction has now destroyed a sacred site to indigenous tribes. Last week, a DHS contractor working on the wall damaged a 1,000-year-old piece of indigenous art. U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed the damage to GearJunkie on Monday. Conservationists, Native American tribes, and local Congressional…
A week ago, I was talking about the latest attempt to assassinate President Donald Trump. This time, the gunman was clear that he wanted to kill as many members of the administration as he could, excluding Kash Patel for some strange reason. He was in the place to commit exactly that attack, and he would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling Secret Service agents. But, as per usual, the discussion from Democrats has hinged exclusively on gun control. Not their own rhetoric or anything else, just gun control.Yet the…
The Minnesota Senate Judiciary and Public Safety committee is meeting today, and multiple gun control bills are on its agenda. But while gun control groups will be able to lend their vocal support to legislation banning many semi-automatic firearms and ammunition magazines, establishing more “gun-free zones,” and other infringements on our right to keep and bear arms, pro-Second Amendment groups are being denied an opportunity to speak. Our partners at @NSSF and @NRA are also not being allowed to testify against the gun ban bills. There are no gun rights groups testifying against the gun bans because…
In the wake of Thursday’s attack on an ROTC class at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia (an attack that was stopped by ROTC cadets who un-alived the terrorist who opened fire), far too many Democrats decided to point the finger at guns than the perpetrator himself; a convicted felon and former National Guardsman who received an 11-year sentence for attempting to aid and abet ISIS a little more than a decade ago. The prime offender in this exercise in obfuscation was easily Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney Ramin Fatehi, who squarely blamed the Second Amendment and…
Embattled U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who is in a heated primary race to keep his Senate seat, has sent some pointed follow-up questions to Robert Cekada, deputy director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Tobacco (ATF), following Cekada’s recent confirmation hearing. In the letter, Sen. Cornyn covered everything from the plan to add 800 new ATF agents to the ATF’s secret “backdoor” registry of 1 billion guns compiled from transaction records of firearms licensees who have gone out of business. Cekada addressed many of the same questions at the hearing, but Cornyn was seeking additional information on…

On the first day of Hannukah, 2025, the world witnessed another needless, avoidable tragedy, this time an Islamic mass shooting, which erupted on the coast of Bondi Beach, Australia. Twenty-two lives were gunned down mercilessly by a father-son duo of destruction, radical militants who had immigrated to the Land Down Under not looking for a better life, but committed to taking others in the furtherance of jihad. Both tragic and outrageous, Western leaders have been welcoming a massive invasion of violent third-world peasants with no interest in integrating into their host countries. As expected, pundits and commentators…

SAVANNAH, Ga. — An Army sergeant accused of shooting and wounding five co-workers at a southeast Georgia base last summer is seeking to plead guilty to attempted murder and other charges in a military court, Army prosecutors said Thursday.Authorities say Sgt. Quornelius Radford, 28, used a personal handgun to open fire on members of his supply unit at Fort Stewart in August. Gunfire injured four soldiers and a civilian worker, who was Radford’s romantic partner, before bystanders disarmed and restrained the sergeant, according to prosecutors.A military judge scheduled Radford to stand trial by court-martial in June after Radford pleaded not…

Jeremy Harrell knows the costs of war firsthand. Harrell, a U.S. Army veteran, was deployed to the Iraq War during its early stages in 2003-2004. Overall, he served as a non-commissioned officer for nine years. As he watches the war against Iran unfold, he can feel the burden of the conflict, decades removed from his own deployment. Harrell is proud of his service but realizes it came with a price.“It was always an honorable profession, but with that came a lot of challenges,” Harrell told LEX 18 in Kentucky. To help veterans navigate those obstacles, Harrell formed Veteran’s Club in 2017, a nonprofit…
