Violent crime is down across the country, and that’s a very good thing. Our homicide rate hitting record lows is something that we should all be celebrating, and we’re on pace to see it even lower this year. Again, a very good thing. I got my first Swiss Army knife at a flea market when I was about 11 years old. Recreational anglers in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina were supposed to start a 62-day Atlantic red snapper season today. But a May court order, followed by NOAA’s June 29 rescission of the state permits, kept the opener from happening. As devastating and deadly wildfires sweep across Utah and Colorado, Arizona has become the latest state to experience an onslaught of flames, with multiple fires currently burning. And on June 30, the National Park Service (NPS) announced that the state’s most iconic outdoor destination — Grand Canyon National Park — is ablaze after a lightning strike started a wildfire.
