Much has changed for the families of Americans Dawn Michelle Hunt and Nelson Wells, Jr., over the past decade and change. Fathers have died, kids have grown up without their parents, and politicians have made countless promises. Yet, they endure. The families of both Americans, each detained for more than 10 years in China on charges claimed to be manufactured by the opposition government, are remaining optimistic that the Donald Trump-Xi Jinping summit this week will be the straw to eventually break the camel’s back when it comes to bringing them home. The meeting between the presidential counterparts in Beijing…

Military fatigue can have a dangerous effect on soldiers, especially when they need to be alert and active in the most crucial situations. To combat fatigue, Military Energy Gum (MEG) teamed with United Service Organizations (USO) to provide its product in care packages sent to service members across the globe. Packages were sent to soldiers in April and will be distributed for a year. MEG, which carries 100 milligrams of caffeine per piece, was created more than 20 years ago after findings from the Military Fatigue Research Program pinpointed the risks of sleepiness and sluggishness in the military. Soldiers serving…

There are currently seven candidates vying the GOP nod in the crowded Maine gubernatorial primaries. Bearing Arms had a chance to interview four of them and Garrett Mason was one. Mason is a Maine politician and businessman. He entered politics at the age of 25, now 40-year-old Mason wants to take his experiences as a state legislator, former Maine senate majority leader, and from the private sector and put them to use. “The government can be a problem, not only in your personal life, but in your business,” says Mason. After spending eight years operating…
GOTLAND, Sweden (AP) — The war game scenario was this: One of NATO ’s newest members, Sweden, was under threat by an unnamed country that was building up troops along the military alliance’s eastern border. And in an unusual twist, non-NATO member Ukraine was there to advise on drone warfare. The Associated Press was allowed to witness the Swedish-led military exercise this week as Europe faces not only the threat of Russia but the wavering of NATO’s most powerful member, the United States. The war game that also involved U.S. forces played out with a real threat in mind. For…
“Suicidal empathy” is, basically, the idea of someone trying so hard to be what they consider a good person that they make stupid decisions that will put either themselves or society as a whole at risk. For example, opposing ICE arresting illegal alien pedophiles simply because you don’t like ICE arresting illegal aliens. You think that you care so much that your decisions are actually dangerous.Of course, no one thinks they’re making those kinds of decisions at the time, but it’s obvious to most anyone who isn’t wearing ideological blinders. However, sometimes, suicidal empathy isn’t about…
This article was originally published by Belle Carter at Natural News. The WHO is preparing for potential radioactive contamination from U.S./Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities (Fordow, Isfahan, Natanz), though no contamination has been confirmed yet. WHO’s Hanan Balkhy stresses that nuclear incidents cause irreversible harm, citing Chornobyl’s thyroid cancer surge and Hiroshima/Nagasaki’s mass casualties as historical precedents. Trump claims Iran poses a “nuclear threat” without evidence, while Iran warns of retaliation. Analysts fear even conventional strikes could unleash radioactive “dirty bomb” effects. Attacks in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza have destroyed medical infrastructure (94% of Gaza’s hospitals are non-functional), with…
The New Jersey Permit to Carry Dashboard that’s been available since 2024 stuttered between gubernatorial administrations. While the system was on pause a bill that would force transparency was reintroduced. In 2023 former Attorney General Matthew Platkin issued a directive that forced the reporting on permit-to-carry application statistics. Previously reported, Black permit-to-carry applicants were getting denied more than double their white counterparts for non-criminal and subjective reasons. It also revealed that the majority of all denials across the board were for subjective reasons that go against NYSRPA v. Bruen. Last year lawmakers introduced a bill…
Despite a federal court vacating the Biden-era pistol brace rule, the ATF says it never stopped enforcing its underlying legal interpretation — and it’s not planning to. A bombshell court filing submitted March 16 in a Southern District of Texas case has gun owners and Second Amendment advocates sounding the alarm: the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has quietly admitted in federal court that it continues to enforce its interpretation that some pistol-brace-equipped firearms are unregistered short-barreled rifles (SBRs) — a federal felony carrying up to 10 years in prison — even though the rule that codified that…

One of the more infuriating parts about the Old Dominion University shooting was finding out that the killer got his gun from someone who’d been arrested for violating gun control laws previously, but no one seemed all that interested in prosecuting him for the crime. They were, however, very interested in twisting what happened in Norfolk, Virginia, that day to make anti-gun talking points. And some of them are real doozies, too.But the problem is that we’ve seen a lot of similar cases over the years, too. That’s especially true over the last few years,…
