Authorities at Camp Pendleton have confirmed that a Marine recruit died during a routine physical fitness test. Officials said the victim experienced a medical emergency on Aug. 1, while undergoing the scheduled fitness evaluation, and was pronounced dead on Wednesday. The test was undertaken at the U.S. Marine Corps base north of San Diego, Calif., and information obtained by Military.com stated that the victim was initially rushed to the Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside.
