Chijioke Timothy Odimegwu, 25, and Harafat Mogaji, 26, both Airmen at the time of their offenses, were sentenced Sept. 25 to a combined 189 months in federal prison. It seems self-evident that the Constitution would apply in all U.S. states and territories, but according to the High Court of American Samoa, the Second Amendment is utterly meaningless in the territory. There are things that I don’t think you should do, even if I’ll defend your right to do them. I don’t see this as a contradiction, either. To me, it’s simply a matter of there being a difference between “should” and “can.” When you start regulating what people can do, that’s a slippery slope that doesn’t stop easily. The Navy’s experiment with manufacturing replacement parts at sea during RIMPAC 2026 showed that 3D printers can shorten supply lines. It also exposed a harder problem: The machines accomplish little without qualified operators, reliable materials, sound certification rules and a system capable of moving finished parts where sailors need them. As autonomous cars become more visible in certain cities, self-driving technology is being tested in other modes of transportation for the U.S. military. In late August, the U.S. Army conducted testing on a commercial offshore supply vessel in Hawaii, completing an 18-hour, fully autonomous trip from Pearl Harbor to the Big Island.
