Housing Allowance for Post-9/11 GI Bill-Eligible Trainees

If you are enrolled in the VR&E training program and eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill, you may be eligible to receive a housing allowance based on the military Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) for an E-5 with dependents. This is based on the ZIP code of the location where the training occurs.

If you are a full-time trainee, you will receive the full BAH; a half-time trainee receives half the BAH, etc.

These amounts change Aug. 1 of every year, for GI Bill purposes, instead of Oct. 1.

Check out the BAH rates for your area.
