Fernando Cota’s final resting place is no longer among the nation’s heroes.  Cota, a convicted rapist and alleged serial killer, had his remains disinterred from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in Texas earlier this week, according to a press release from Sen. John Cornyn’s office. Cota’s removal comes after a federal law was passed last December allowing for the Vietnam soldier’s remains to be disinterred from the cemetery. The legislation was introduced by Cornyn (R-Texas) and co-sponsored by fellow Texas senator Ted Cruz. The bill was signed into law by President Donald Trump as part of the National Defense Authorization Act…

Whether you’re a seasoned outdoorsman or just getting started with bushcraft, there’s always something new to lear. The best survival skills aren’t always the big dramatic ones like building a shelter from leaves and branches. Sometimes it’s the small, clever tricks that make the biggest difference when you’re miles from the nearest hardware store. From turning a dead lighter into a fully functional fire-starting tool to improvising a draw knife from nothing but a stick and some cordage, these hacks prove that a little creativity goes a long way in the backcountry. We found these gems on the YouTube channel…

Fifty years ago, the gun control lobby’s position was that handguns should (and could) be banned without violating the Second Amendment, but they had no interest in going after “sporting” arms. Even today it’s not uncommon for anti-gun politicians to argue that nobody “needs” a particular firearm to hunt deer or turkey, which insinuates that they believe those guns are okay to possess, at least in limited circumstances.  In court, however, the gun control lobby is making a very different argument. A supplemental brief was filed by the anti-gun amici in our lawsuit challenging the NFA, where…

If anyone still needs proof that gun crime is already illegal (and aggressively prosecuted) look no further than the case of Filiberto Walle. Federal prosecutors say Walle, a 24-year-old from Edinburgh, Texas, pleaded guilty to running an unlicensed firearms dealing operation that stretched from Colorado to Texas. And this wasn’t some paperwork oopsie. This was a full-on straw-purchase pipeline built to move big-ticket rifles across state lines. According to court records, Walle spent the summer of 2023 acquiring .50 BMG rifles from federally licensed gun dealers in Colorado. These included Barrett M82A1 and Desert Tech HTI rifles, firearms often labeled…

Big Rock Sports, a longtime distributor in the fishing, hunting, and outdoor space, has officially pulled the plug. According to a report from SGB Media, the Graham, North Carolina–based company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation, listing just over $100 million in liabilities and making it clear that most unsecured creditors won’t see a dime. Court filings show $100.9 million in total liabilities, including $83.2 million in unsecured claims, many of which stem from active litigation with vendors, landlords, and service providers. After administrative costs are paid, the bankruptcy filing states there will be no funds available for unsecured creditors.…

I’ve been a fan of Griffin Armament for a while, having used their M2 iron sights for years, enjoying the quality of their silencers, and, more recently, appreciating significant value in their optics line after reviewing the 1-10x Mil-R SFP LPVO. Perhaps I’ve been working backwards, but it made sense that I should take one of the company’s rifles for a spin, and what better than the close quarters configuration of the day, the Griffin Armament MK2 CQB 11.5″. As America’s rifle, the AR-15 has no shortage of manufacturers competing for a spot on your shopping list. Why shouldn’t they?…

Kyle Rittenhouse made a name for himself by defending himself from a mob that was clearly bent on murdering him. He fired four shots, killed two convicted felons, and injured a third who was pointing a gun at him. Not a bad night’s work. He was then forced to endure a ridiculous trial that was more about politics than the law, and deal with an entire segment of people who think he’s racist because he shot black people, even though everyone he shot was white. To say that it shaped him to some degree is putting…

If you’ve spent any time listening to the Shawn Ryan Show, you already know it doesn’t do highlight reels or Hollywood nonsense. And the recent conversation with Nick Brokhausen might be one of the most unfiltered looks yet at what close combat actually does to a human being—and how it never really stops doing it. Brokhausen, a MACV-SOG recon veteran who ran deep behind enemy lines in Vietnam and Laos, doesn’t romanticize anything. He talks about killing at arm’s length. About using an entrenching tool when there was nothing else. About a shotgun at eight feet and the kind of…

A federal appeals court has struck down the law banning a nonviolent felon from ever owning firearms again. On January 27, a three-judge panel of the New Orleans-based 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, in the case U.S. v. Hembree, found the law unconstitutional as applied to defendant Charles Hembree. As background, Hembree was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). He has a single predicate felony conviction: a 2018 conviction for simple possession of methamphetamine. According to court records, Hembree was not accused of trafficking drugs, committing violence or using…

The handwriting was on the wall during the Supreme Court’s hearing on Hawaii’s Vampire Rule measure. While we may not know the specifics of how the Court will rule, it’s pretty clear that they won’t be upholding a blasted thing. That’s good news for gun owners throughout the nation, particularly in states that have their own versions of this law. But Hawaiian anti-gunners are stubborn. Normally, this is a trait I can respect, but the problem is that while they know they’re about to lose the Wolford case, what they’re proposing replace it might actually…

Colorado has quietly carved out a niche in the gun-control world, and it’s not a good one. While Virginia grabs headlines for pushing AR bans, Colorado lawmakers are refining something far more insidious: aggressive expansion of red-flag laws that weaponize schools and healthcare systems against lawful gun owners. That’s the warning sounded this week by William Kirk of Washington Gun Law, who broke down the implications of Colorado Senate Bill 4. And why it should concern gun owners far beyond the Centennial State. At its core, SB4 dramatically expands who can petition a court for an Extreme Risk Protection Order…

This article was originally published by Cassie B. at Natural News.  Venezuela defiantly asserts its sovereign right to maintain alliances with Russia and China. Its ambassador to Moscow declared that no outside power can dictate Venezuela’s international relations. Venezuela also assured China that its critical oil and investment partnerships will continue unchanged. This event marks a drastic U.S. escalation from sanctions to the military capture of a foreign leader. In a bold rebuke to Washington, Venezuela’s government is asserting its sovereign right to maintain critical economic and strategic partnerships with Russia and China following the unprecedented U.S. military capture of…

A lot of gardeners started with the goal of saving money, myself included. With how expensive food has gotten, growing your own food should be cheaper than buying it, right? Turns out, not so much. When I first started gardening, I found that by the time I stocked up on seed trays, plant ties, protective netting, and all sorts of other garden gadgets, I ended up spending way more than I saved. The good news? You probably already have plenty of things around your house that can do the job just as well—if not better—than the store-bought stuff. And if you’re missing…

Gear doesn’t always need to be perfect, but it does need to make sense. At $75, that’s the lens through which I approached the Goodr Snow G Ski Goggles. These snow goggles sit squarely in entry-level territory with a price point that immediately sets realistic expectations. You’re not buying premium optics or cutting-edge anti-fog tech here. You’re buying something accessible, functional, and easy to live with. And to that end, they get the job done. I tested the Snow G Goggles for over 6 weeks, wearing them on multiple resort days. I also regularly sent them with my 8-year-old daughter,…
