On the morning of Jan. 30, 1944, two battalions of U.S. Army Rangers found themselves surrounded in the open farmland south of Cisterna, Italy, outnumbered and outgunned by a German force that had been waiting for them. By the time the fighting ended, a force of 767 Rangers had been reduced to just six.The 1st and 3rd Ranger Battalions, the core of the Army’s premier commando force since 1942, ceased to exist in a single day. The defeat halted the use of Army Rangers in the Mediterranean, led to the disbandment of the original Ranger battalions and forced the Army to…

Fernando Cota’s final resting place is no longer among the nation’s heroes.  Cota, a convicted rapist and alleged serial killer, had his remains disinterred from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in Texas earlier this week, according to a press release from Sen. John Cornyn’s office. Cota’s removal comes after a federal law was passed last December allowing for the Vietnam soldier’s remains to be disinterred from the cemetery. The legislation was introduced by Cornyn (R-Texas) and co-sponsored by fellow Texas senator Ted Cruz. The bill was signed into law by President Donald Trump as part of the National Defense Authorization Act…

Whether you’re a seasoned outdoorsman or just getting started with bushcraft, there’s always something new to lear. The best survival skills aren’t always the big dramatic ones like building a shelter from leaves and branches. Sometimes it’s the small, clever tricks that make the biggest difference when you’re miles from the nearest hardware store. From turning a dead lighter into a fully functional fire-starting tool to improvising a draw knife from nothing but a stick and some cordage, these hacks prove that a little creativity goes a long way in the backcountry. We found these gems on the YouTube channel…

Colorado was one of the first states in the nation to legalize marijuana for recreational use. Sure, it’s still illegal at the federal level, but Denver now gets called the Mile High City for completely different reasons. However, because it’s still illegal at the federal level, those who use it in compliance with state law are still prohibited from lawfully owning a firearm. This is a measure that’s being challenged, but until the Supreme Court rules on it one way or the other, there’s going to be some tension over this. That’s especially true in Colorado,…

Not only are the two nuclear superpowers working to generate another treaty, but both have also agreed to continue to follow the current treaty even after its expiration. According to…

We’ve been covering a lot of gun control bills here at Bearing Arms in recent weeks, but we haven’t written nearly as much about pro-2A legislation. It’s not that we’re uninterested. Far from it, as a matter of fact. It’s just that right now the gun control lobby is in overdrive, and we’re honestly just not seeing as much action on the pro-2A side.  Part of that is because most red states already have pretty good gun laws. 29 states have adopted constitutional or permitless carry laws, for example, and that seems to be ceiling for…

Lindsey Vonn successfully completed her Olympic training run on Friday, Feb. 6, securing her place in the Women’s Olympic Downhill Race on Sunday. Connecticut residents looking to buy a handgun for self-defense (or other lawful purposes) may soon find their options limited, thanks to a bill introduced by Gov. Ned Lamont on Thursday.  Governor’s Bill 5043 looks to prohibit the manufacture and sale of “convertible pistols.” Much like the California law that has widely been drescribed as a Glock ban, Lamont’s legislation defines a “convertible pistol” as “any semiautomatic pistol with a cruciform trigger bar that can be readily converted by hand or with a common household tool into a machine gun solely by the installation or attachment…

We cover anti-gun state legislatures and the dozens of gun-control measures filed across the nation to the point that it is easy to forget there are just as many pro-gun states as there are anti-gun. A good reminder of that fact is Missouri, where Republicans in the Show Me State legislature are pushing a number of measures to ease unconstitutional restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. One such measure, HB 2176, which was heard in committee on January 25, would prevent state from ever enforcing a so-called “red-flag” law, even though no such law currently exist in…

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The End of the American Dream.  Has anyone ever been more connected than Jeffrey Epstein? That is a serious question. Personally, I have never heard of anyone who has spent more time socializing with the rich and famous than Epstein. We are told that he was some sort of financier, but in reality, he seemed to spend almost all of his time hanging out with his elitist friends. Prior to being convicted, Jeffrey Epstein was a pillar of the New York social scene. Everyone wanted to know him, and that included…

We’ve talked a lot about Jeanine Pirro and her, at best, ill-advised comments regarding arresting people who come into DC with guns. Yes, she walked it back, but while I don’t think she’s going to get fired for anything, she also didn’t really make anyone feel better with her walkback comments. For this to come in the immediate aftermath of the Trump administration’s comments about Alex Pretti carrying a firearm and how it meant he was up to no good, well…let’s just say the timing could have been better, to say the least. As The Reload’s…
