This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog under the title: Oil Production In The Persian Gulf Has Fallen 57 Percent From Pre-War Levels – Rationing And Shortages Are Coming They aren’t telling you the truth about what is coming. Even if the Strait of Hormuz reopens tomorrow, and there is no way that is going to happen, oil production will not return to pre-war levels for years. In other words, we are facing an extended global energy crisis no matter what happens now. Of course, if the fighting resumes and more oil and gas…

Since the Virginia General Assembly approved a revised version of the bill last week, there’s been a whole lot of confusion about Virginia’s HB 1525, which raises the age to purchase handguns from 18 to 21 and requires the Virginia State Police to resume conducting background checks on private sales. Governor Abigail Spanberger’s amended version contained language that declared the act an emergency, which would allow it to take effect immediately, but the legislature did not approve the changes with a 4/5ths vote, which is supposedly what’s required in order for that “emergency” provision to be adopted. …
Images by the author Most red dots today are built around one goal: lighter and smaller. The Griffin GHS goes in the opposite direction. It’s heavier. It’s overbuilt. And the second you pick it up, you know it’s not trying to compete with minimalist optics. The real question is simple: Does that extra weight actually give you something in return? Features and Specifications Here’s a good place to list those… Features 3 MOA Dot Reticle 1 MOA Adjustment Increments 10 Brightness Settings (8 Daytime, 2 NV) Parallax Set at 25yds Flip-Up Plastic Lens Covers Integrated Picatinny Mount (Co-Witness Height) Shockproof…
President Donald Trump signed H.J. Res. 140 into law Monday, officially ending the 20-year federal mining withdrawal on 225,504 acres of Superior National Forest land near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The White House confirmed the signing on April 27. The resolution disapproves Public Land Order 7917, the 2023 Bureau of Land Management order that withdrew National Forest System lands in Cook, Lake, and Saint Louis counties from mineral and geothermal leasing for 20 years. That means the Biden-era land protection is now overturned. It also means the fight over mining near one of the country’s most visited wilderness…
There’s a familiar script in the gun debate: “You can take this gun from my cold dead hands.” “Guns are the foundation of American freedom.” “What part of shall not be infringed do you not understand?” “What part of well-regulated militia do you not understand?” “Your gun fetish is tearing America apart.” If you’ve spent five minutes anywhere near this issue, you’ve heard it all before. That’s exactly how David Yamane opens his recent TED Talk (see below), by throwing both sides’ talking points right in your face. “Some of you fall on the gun rights side… some of you…

I own several handguns that qualify as high-end—Les Baer, Dan Wesson, Langdon Tactical. They are excellent pistols, refined versions of familiar patterns. 1911s. Berettas. Even Glocks. The pistol illustrated here doesn’t resemble any of them. The Daniel Defense H9 looks like nothing else on the shelf—except, of course, the Hudson H9. That’s no accident. Daniel Defense acquired the rights to the Hudson design and reworked it extensively. The result is not a cosmetic refresh, but a serious re-engineering of an idea that once showed promise yet failed to fully deliver. I fired a Hudson H9 eight years ago. It was…
It’s never a great morning when I wake up and see there’s been a mass public shooting anywhere in the world. I don’t like seeing them, and not just because they bring up some rather painful memories. But when it happens in an anti-gun country, I have to take a moment and think about the laws that are in place in that country as well, because these are all things that someone here either has demanded as a way to stop mass shootings, or will if they get half a chance. For example, Bondi Beach.Yet on…
A state gun-rights group is warning that the on-again, off-again support of the Second Amendment by the Trump Administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) could have effects that endanger Republican candidates in this November’s critical mid-term elections. A story under the byline Texas Gun Rights (TGR) and posted at shootingnewsweekly.com emphasized that a number of 2A-related missteps by some administration officials are concerning this close to such an important election. “The Trump administration has moved aggressively to enforce immigration law, crack down on sanctuary policies, and restore order at the border,” the report stated. “But as that fight plays out, another…
It’s been more than a year since Illinois state Rep. Kevin John Olickal introduced the “Responsibility in Firearm Legislation” or RIFL Act, and so far the bill hasn’t seen much movement. It was shunted off to the House Rules committee last February, and hasn’t had so much as an initial hearing. Still, the legislation that would require firearms manufacturers to obtain a license from the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in order to sell their products in the state has quietly gained co-sponsors in the months since it’s been introduced, and now anti-gun politicians…
This article was originally published by G. Calder at The Exposé. On Tuesday, February 10th, the European Parliament moved the digital euro one step closer to reality, backing amendments that support a push by the European Central Bank (ECB) for a central bank digital currency intended to work both online and offline. This does not mean the new currency is in place yet, but it’s another unmistakable signal that the project is gaining momentum after years of discussion. The digital euro remains framed by EU institutions as a strategic and sovereignty project, designed to reduce reliance on non-European payments infrastructure and to…
There are hundreds of rod companies for bass anglers to select from. Most are great, and it can be tough to stand out in the crowd. But let’s be real: a store-brand rod lacks the same sexiness you get from a boutique manufacturer. Yet time and time again, I find myself reaching for the Bass Pro Shops Johnny Morris Platinum Signature Rod on my boat deck. I picked this rod up a year ago and didn’t have high expectations. But I’ll be darned, after using it to chuck jigs and stick pigs, I can no longer ignore its impressive performance.…
More and more, large language model chatbots, commonly called AI, are becoming ways for people to look for information. They’re fallible, of course, but they’re also easier to interact with than a simple Google search. You can refine your searches and interact more like talking to a knowledgeable friend, though again, sometimes that friend is just making crap up or pulling from the worst sources possible. So it’s no surprise that a study has found that AI chatbots aren’t exactly pro-gun.Liberal bias against Second Amendment issues is spreading among artificial intelligence chatbots such as ChatGPT…
When it comes to any sport — and especially the Olympic Games — the gear used by elite athletes can be practical, personal, or even political. In the case of one Ukrainian skeleton racer, his helmet is all three. Vladyslav Heraskevych, 27, was officially banned from competing in the Winter Olympics this week because he refused to wear anything but a helmet with images of Ukrainian athletes killed by the Russian military. Although many Olympic athletes — including other skeleton racers — have been allowed to showcase political messaging at the Olympics, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided Thursday that Heraskevych’s helmet went…
It’s a little odd that while students in Georgia were demanding that state lawmakers pass a measure, ostensibly as a trial for a mass shooting is set to start, students three-quarters of the way across the country are doing something similar. This time, they’re in Colorado, and while Georgia students demanded something be made illegal that is already illegal, the Colorado bunch are demanding something even dumber. They want the state to restrict 3D-printed guns.Over 100 high school students rallied at the Colorado Capitol in Denver on Wednesday to urge lawmakers to pass a bill that…
