After Nick Sheryka’s dreams of flying for the U.S. military were dashed because of hearing loss in his left ear, he didn’t sulk. Instead, he built his own airplane.Sheryka eventually obtained his pilot’s license and secured a job at Boom Supersonic, a startup with the goal of achieving civilian supersonic flight and making it affordable to the general public. Sheryka, the company’s chief flight test engineer, and Tristan Brandenburg, its chief test pilot, recently joined The Fighter Pilot Podcast to discuss the XB-1 Supersonic demonstrator program. While Sheryka did not serve in the military, he said his grandfather was a fighter…
By Logan Metesh The May edition of GunBroker.com’s Top Selling Report presented by GunGenius.com, shows Smith & Wesson’s Model 686 revolvers moving up in both new and used revolver categories. The recent release of a Lipsey’s exclusive Mountain Gun version of the 686 has breathed new life into this 45-year-old design. The Model 686 is built on Smith & Wesson’s L frame, which is often seen as a Goldilocks size for revolvers. It’s larger than the K frame on which the Model 19 is built, but smaller than the N frame on which the Model 29 is built. The Model…
A Utah woman fighting to get her Second Amendment rights restored more than a decade after she became a prohibited person because she wrote a bad check is going to have to wait a little longer to learn what the Department of Justice has to say about her legal fight. Melynda Vincent petitioned the Supreme Court to accept her case in early May, and the DOJ originally had a June 11 deadline to respond. In early June the Solicitor General’s office requested and received a one-month extension, which pushed the deadline to July 11. In…
This article was originally published by Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge under the title: ‘Hand To God, I Know The Names’: Alan Dershowitz Says He Knows Who’s On The Epstein List Two days after the FBI leaked a memo to Axios revealing that the Epstein case is effectively ‘closed’ (he killed himself and there’s no ‘list’ of clients) – former Epstein attorney and associate Alan Dershowitz says he knows exactly who’s on the ‘Epstein list,’ and why it’s being suppressed from the public. Alan “The-State-Can-Plunge-A-Needle-In-Your-Arm” Dershowitz Is In Epstein’s “Little Black Book” “I have seen – remember I was accused falsely,” Dershowitz said on the Sean Spicer show. “Let me…
Tricare copays for many drugs will rise again in 2024 as part of a long-term plan to ratchet up patients’ share of the costs through 2027. Congress ordered the series of rate hikes that began in 2018. The rates, which will go up as much as $8 for a 30-day supply of drugs not on Tricare’s coverage list, also known as “non-formulary,” were published in a Defense Department reimbursement guide on Thursday. Generic drugs and brand-name medication on the coverage list will also see price increases. Prescription medications filled at on-base pharmacies will remain free. The changes impact all non-active-duty…
The revolver is not dead. At least, Connecticut-based Charter Arms doesn’t think so. Charter Arms has staked its corporate life on revolvers with 13 different categories of wheelguns and a total of 90 models in its catalog. This Bulldog has bite! So, today let’s look at some of Charter Arms revolvers. I’ll be sharing my experiences with the Charter Arms Pathfinder, Target Bulldog, and Mag Pug revolver models. I have a long history with revolvers — both shooting and reviewing them. I can’t wait to share why I think the Charter Arms revolvers are some of the most fun revolvers…
Not only do we have to deal with anti-gun locales trying to infringe on the right to keep and bear arms, but our ability to acquire arms for self-defense as well. On today’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co we’re detailing the ongoing fight to block gun shops from opening in one California community, and why the Supreme Court may soon have to decide whether restrictive zoning laws designed to keep communities gun store-free are constitutional. For several months now we’ve been reporting on what’s going on in Redwood City, California, where anti-gunners are up in arms (so to speak) about…
The Pentagon is moving forward with a series of changes to mental health care access required by a 2021 law that was passed in memory of a sailor who killed himself in 2018 after receiving little help from leaders. Named after Brandon Caserta, the Brandon Act will be adopted at a ceremony at the Pentagon Friday, according to defense officials as well as Caserta’s parents. It will likely be a few more weeks before it goes into full effect with every service branch. “It should not have taken this long for something that can save lives, but we are very…
So, who here remembers Kyle Rittenhouse and the guy with a skateboard? Everyone? Good. How about a woman with a gun who was assaulted by another woman with a pogo stick? Apparently in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a dispute broke out in a parking lot between two women. Whatever caused the altercation, it apparently made one of the woman feel she needed to grab the closest bludgeoning weapon at hand — a pogo stick. The other woman, however, happened to be armed. As wxii12.com wrote . . . Through investigation, police said several people, including the victim and suspect, were involved…
One thing we can never allow to fully take hold in this country is gun registration. The reason? Registration doesn’t really do much to deter criminals, but it makes it a whole lot easier to confiscate guns from law-abiding citizens. In Brazil, recent gun rights reforms are being rolled back, and the starting place is with a gun registry. Brazil’s recently elected left-wing President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is pushing new gun control regulations on the country’s gun owners, requiring all of them to register each of their firearms with the police. The massive gun registration program comes after his predecessor,…

Whatever your feelings on belly bands, they have their place, especially in the summer. Lighter clothes, like running shorts and women’s yoga pants, don’t typically offer a lot of support for concealed carry. So, this is where a belly band, like the Core-Defender from Elite Survival Systems, comes in. Not only does it have the capacity for two pistols, but you can also carry extra accessories and magazines. The Elite Survival Systems Core-Defender Belly BandConstructed of orthopedic ergonomic elastic, the latex-free Core-Defender is hypoallergenic for those allergic to latex. So, there is less concern about your concealed carry method causing issues…
Market analyst Greg Mannarino says that the banking system’s complete collapse is accelerating and we should be preparing for “the greatest depression.” He adds that it is no secret at all what’s happening right now in the United States economy and central banking system. Brace for a system of even more control once the rulers decide to take down this one. “In case you’re not paying attention, and don’t know what I’m talking about, overnight, regional banks’ stocks were cratering and it’s going on right now as well. This thing…is gonna get much worse and as I outlined yesterday,…
According to the new rules issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, all owners of pistol-stabilizing braces have until the end of the month to either register their brace-equipped pistols as short barreled rifles under the National Firearms Act, or “permanently remove and dispose of, or alter, the stabilizing brace such that it cannot be reattached.” But Rep. Thomas Massie says ATF Director Steve Dettelbach may have given gun owners a way to keep ahold of their braces without registering their guns under the NFA. In a Twitter thread, Massie highlighted Dettelbach’s recent testimony before a House…
Please understand I do not consider myself to be a historian. I’m a fan of the Old West and a serious student of the “combative application of the handgun.” I grew up in the late 1950s through the 1960s watching Westerns on television. Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and Buffalo Bill Cody were part of American culture due to shows of the same name. When I entered law enforcement, I became a student of combative pistolcraft which renewed my interest in the Old West, specifically people known as “gunfighters” or “shootists.” Why? Because they fought with handguns…
We wrote back in August of 2021 about the slowly accumulating lawsuits against SIG SAUER. A small, but growing number of people — mostly police officers — were claiming that the P320 pistol was prone to what their attorneys called “un-commanded discharges.” ABC News had just aired a couple of reports on the lawsuits, interviewing one of the officers involved and her attorney, Jeffrey Bagnell. Bagnell made the case for the cameras that if all of these highly skilled and extensively trained individuals — cops — were having problems, something must be wrong with the guns. Because as everyone knows,…
