Army planners are moving toward a sweeping overhaul of the service’s professional military education pipeline for noncommissioned officers, part of an aggressive push to slash costs. The overhaul is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks and primarily aimed at slashing the cost of sending soldiers to school — particularly travel expenses like rental cars, meals and lodging, internal documents and correspondence between service planners reviewed by Military.com show. The changes could significantly reduce the length of midlevel NCO courses. The Advanced Leader Course, or ALC, and Senior Leader Course, or SLC, would be compressed from eight to 16 weeks down…
Hawaii is not just anti-gun; it’s a state that has advantages that pretty much no one else has. You can’t just drive guns across the border and traffic them without going through some controlled point of entry. That doesn’t mean guns can’t be trafficked into the state; it’s just a whole lot harder to do. That means officials can’t really blame lax gun laws elsewhere for their issues.Sure, they could blame the Bruen decision if they wanted to, but since the courts there have largely ignored the decision by claiming the “Aloha Spirit” trumps the…
By Guns & Ammo Staff One of the limitations of the classic lever gun is the tubular magazine. The design limits the number of rounds a rifle can hold and slows the reloading process for most users. We love exercising our Right to Bear Arms with firearms that can hold a lot of bullets and shoot fast, which is why the AR-15-pattern rifle became one of the most popular types in America. Many would agree, though, that gun safes are already saturated with AR-15s, and the evolution continues to produce the next greatest “tactical” rifle. Addressing this, Henry…
Unlike a regular flood, a flash flood occurs suddenly, often catching people off guard and bringing a wall of water often filled with debris. Flash flooding often accompanies heavy rainfall, but what makes a flash flood dangerous is that it can often travel long distances to locations where no rain is apparent. It typically occurs where the ground isn’t able to absorb all the rainfall either due to previous precipitation, a recent wildfire stripping the land of vegetation, and even the hard surfaces of asphalt and concrete in cities. Flash floods can also occur due to dam or levee breaks, sending…
Why? We’ve seen way too many mass shootings this year–though, in fairness, even one is too many. The latest in Allen, Texas will be occupying a lot of time in the coming days and weeks. Potentially, at any rate. Through it all, though, the question we all need to be asking is, “Why?” Usually, though, no one asks. One publication did, but the answers they got are…varied. Over the first four months and six days of this year, 115 people have died in 22 mass killings — an average of one mass killing a week. That includes the bloodshed Saturday…

Lawyers for Stewart Rhodes, the Oath Keepers founder convicted of seditious conspiracy in the attack on the U.S. Capitol, say he doesn’t deserve any more time behind bars when he’s sentenced this month, according to court papers filed Monday. While the Justice Department is seeking 25 years in prison, defense attorneys are urging the judge to sentence Rhodes to the time behind bars he has already served. Rhodes, of Granbury, Texas, has been locked up since his arrest in January 2022. Rhodes is expected to be sentenced on May 25 after his November conviction in one of the most serious…
The dust from the Illinois “Assault Weapon” and “Large Capacity” magazine ban remains unsettled. As Cam wrote recently, the Seventh Circuit took actions to keep the bans in place while legal challenges continue. Frank Easterbrook, the judge whose decision kept the bans in place, was also in the anti-Rights majority in some other big Second Amendment cases from recent history, namely, McDonald v. Chicago and Friedman v. Highland Park. There are many anti-Second Amendment judges out there, both liberal and nominally conservative, whose judicial musings are an academic version of, “I support the Second Amendment, BUT…,” while there aren’t many…
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has just identified the “assault weapon” gun banners don’t want to ban, but when it comes to mayhem, this one has quite a body count to its credit, including eight people killed Sunday at a bus stop in Brownsville, Texas. A man identified as George Alvarez drove a motor vehicle into a crowd of pedestrians outside a migrant center in Brownsville, killing eight and injuring ten other people, say published reports. The suspect has been charged with eight counts of manslaughter and 10 counts of “aggravated…
Hello and welcome to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is about the rimfire firearm world and its many different types of guns, sports, history, and ammunition types. Last week we brought in TFB writer and gunsmith extraordinaire Sam S to talk about fixing his Dad’s old Marlin Model 60 – probably one of the most ubiquitous semi-auto rimfire rifles alongside the Ruger 10/22. My recent experiences with the new Ruger Super Wrangler have brought my mind back to rimfire ammunition comparisons. When it comes to rimfire cartridges, the .22 Long Rifle (22LR) and .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire…
A former Navy reservist who told an undercover FBI agent that he was inspired by the Unabomber and admired Adolf Hitler was sentenced to four years in prison for his part in storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. A federal judge sentenced Hatchet Speed to 48 months of jail on several charges stemming from his part in breaching the Capitol, as well as three more years of supervised release and a $10,000 fine. Speed has also been sentenced to three years for firearms offenses tied to his possession of unregistered silencers. Speed was also a petty officer 1st…
This article was originally published by The Daily Exposé under the title: Unmasking The Great Reset: Schwab, Gates, and the Sinister WEF Plot to Depopulate the World using COVID Vaccines & Climate Change Lies as a Recipe for Disaster In a world shrouded in suspicion and skepticism, where power seems concentrated in the hands of a privileged few and giant corporations, critical thinkers are raising questions about the intentions and actions of prominent entities such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) and renowned figure Bill Gates. Whispers of a grand conspiracy suggest that under the guise of “saving the planet,”…
The events in Allen, TX are awful by any metric you want to use. There’s no situation where a mass shooting isn’t going to be, and that’s if you know none of the dead. Believe me, it’s worse when you do. But without it, it’s still awful. The media, however, seems to want to latch onto the wrong things in a shooting like this. Take this editorial from the New York Daily News, as an example. “Innocent people are dead, shot by a young man with a potent firearm, who died after an exchange of gunfire with police.” That was,…
President Joe Biden has urged lawmakers to present him with a bill banning so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity magazines,” promising to sign it into law “immediately.” His statement comes as the nation mourns a mass public killing at a mall in Allen, Texas that left nine people dead, including the perpetrator. In a Sunday press release, President Biden praised himself for signing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law and implementing two dozen executive actions aimed at reducing gun violence. He further mentioned that states are taking action by banning black rifles, expanding red flag laws, and implementing other measures.…
WASHINGTON — The U.S. will provide $1.2 billion more in long-term military aid to Ukraine to further bolster its air defenses as Russia continues to pound Ukraine with drones, rockets and surface-to-air missiles, U.S. officials said Monday. The aid package is expected to be announced on Tuesday and the money will be provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. Unlike the U.S. equipment, weapons and ammunition that are more frequently sent to Ukraine from Pentagon stocks — so they can be delivered quickly — this money is to be spent over the coming months or even years to ensure Ukraine’s…
I read a lot of letters to the editor, though I don’t write about most of them. After all, most are just a regurgitation of talking points better articulated in longer pieces, though usually just as stupid. However, some touch on something that one just kind of has to address. A friend sent me this one and I just sort of had to address it. You see, I’m pretty sure the letter writer is trying to be sarcastic, but it kind of backfires. To the editor: I’m trying to channel the National Rifle Assn.’s belief that gun violence can be addressed…
