Victor Davis Hanson just laid it out plainly. The Left is teetering on the edge of sedition, radical violence, and outright insurrection.

And if his warnings are true – if we’re entering an era where mobs take to the streets, where assassination attempts become normalized, and where Congress members are pressured to use violence to advance a radical agenda – then let’s be blunt:

Your right to keep and bear arms has never been more important.

Hanson highlighted disturbing incidents that should wake up even the most politically apathetic American:

  • Organized assassination attempts have targeted ICE agents simply for doing their jobs.
  • Ten armed radicals were arrested after shooting an ICE agent in the neck.
  • Democrat members of Congress admit constituents are calling for them to use violence or be willing to die to push their agendas.
  • A Democrat official turned the tragic deaths of children in Texas into a racial issue.

Hanson called it “insurrection.” He’s right.

But let’s take his analysis one step further. If mobs and politicians are now merging into a single violent revolutionary bloc, what’s left for ordinary citizens?

They tell you to call the police – but they’re defunding them.
They tell you to rely on institutions – but those institutions are increasingly lawless, partisan, and weaponized.
And, they tell you to just vote harder – but their own leaders are egging on violence when votes don’t go their way.

Here’s the bottom line:

If Victor Davis Hanson is correct, the Second Amendment isn’t just important – it is the last firewall against chaos.

These radicals don’t just want power. They want submission. They want citizens defenseless in the face of ideological terror. When the mob arrives on your block – or when a politically motivated prosecutor lets them off – you’ll wish you had what they want to take away: your arms, your autonomy, your security.

As Hanson noted, this rage is fueled by the Left’s loss of institutional control. Their media monopoly is crumbling. Their political majority has evaporated. And, their grip on cultural power is slipping. And they are lashing out like cornered animals.

That is precisely why the Founders wrote the Second Amendment. Not for hunting. Not for sport. But for the dark days when tyranny stops wearing a badge and starts wearing a mob’s mask.

So yes, Victor Davis Hanson has a point. And his point proves ours: the 2A remains America’s final guarantee that liberty can survive the madness.
