Walther just dropped a big one: the company is officially pausing production of the legendary PPK®, PPK/S®, and PP® series.
Yeah… the guns that defined an entire era of smooth steel, German engineering, and timeless cool.
But before anyone starts panic-buying a tuxedo and a shoulder holster, Walther says this isn’t a funeral. It’s a pit stop.
For almost 100 years, the PP-series has been a benchmark for craftsmanship and elegance. These pistols have been in movies, on the hips of history-makers, and inside more safes than anyone can count.
They’re icons for a reason. Now?
Walther is taking them into the shop for a full multi-year modernization and reengineering overhaul. Think of it like restoring a classic muscle car. You don’t change the soul, you just give it the performance and tech it deserves in 2025 and beyond.
“This is not the end of the PPK story,” said Tyler Weigel, VP of Sales at Walther. “It’s the beginning of a new chapter.”
And he made it clear: Walther wants the gun to feel like the PPK everyone knows, just sharper, smoother, and built with modern tech under the hood.
Collectors, Pay Attention
Walther has already shipped out every last unit of the current-generation PPK®, PPK/S®, and PP® models. No more are coming.
Dealers who still have them on shelves are sitting on the final wave of an era.
If you’ve always wanted one of these classics (or just want to stash one away for your kids, your grandkids, or your “don’t tell my wife” safe), now is the time to hit your local Walther dealer and scoop one before they vanish.
A legend is hitting pause… and gearing up for its comeback.
