Just this morning Colt announced their revolver RMSc plate, a new red dot mounting plate for their Python, Anaconda, and King Cobra revolvers. With this plate, you can quickly and easily mount an optic on your favorite Colt wheel gun.
This plate features solid steel construction and fits current production revolvers (2020 and newer). The finish is a black oxide coating that looks sharp and adds useful rust resistance.
Thanks to the drop-in design, you won’t have to permanently modify your gun. It simply replaces the rear sight by using the rear sight screw and pin to affix it to the frame.
Another benefit is how low the sight sits. Replacing the rear iron gives you a low-profile option that looks at home on the gun.
As far as optics compatibility goes, this plate is ready to accept any sight with a Shield RMSc or Holosun 507k footprint. This is a very common footprint for compact optics so there are plenty of options for you to choose from
According to one of the reps at the Colt booth, we can expect these to ship in March of 2025 and carry a $79 MSRP.
As of writing, the RMSc plate is not yet on Colt’s Website but if you’re interested it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye out.
