The game’s annual World Championships easily stands as the biggest event of the year for competitive League of Legends, bringing together the best teams from each region to compete for a shot at the world title. However, fans looking to attend this year’s event may now have to pay a premium to attend the tournament.
League of Legends Worlds Tickets Are Being Resold for Extreme Prices
Tickets to the 2026 League of Legends World Championships are seeing significant markups on secondhand marketplaces. Tickets for the World Championships being held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center are being sold for as high as $169,000 on SeatGeek for a suite seat at the event. Even seats in the rafters of the arena are seeing marked increases from the original prices, with the cheapest tickets starting at $1,860. Many fans have cited the Fan First ticketing process used for distributing tickets for the event as a major cause, with Riot Games confirming that a drawing system determined which verified accounts received early access ahead of general admission sales.
The scalping issue with 2026 Worlds has already prompted Riot Games look into correcting the problem. The League of Legends and Valorant developer officially confirmed that more general admission tickets were going to be made available at a later date, announcing a second wave of tickets to be sold in August. Rumors have also suggested that there may have only been a limited number of general admission tickets available when sales opened on July 24, though Riot Games has not confirmed the claims.
