Kimber is expanding its fast-growing 2K11 platform with the launch of four new compensated pistols, answering one of the most common requests from competitive shooters and enthusiasts alike.

Just over a year after the 2K11 debuted in November 2024, the platform continues to gain traction across competition circuits and defensive handgun circles.

The new 2K11 Comp models represent the next evolution of the design, combining high-capacity 1911-style ergonomics with recoil-reducing compensation in a factory-built package.

Four Configurations, One Purpose-Built Design

The 2K11 Comp series debuts in January 2026 with four configurations:

  • Black or Stainless finishes
  • Full-size 5-inch barrel
  • Pro-size 4.25-inch barrel

All models feature an integrated compensator positioned forward of the front sight, engineered to reduce muzzle rise while maintaining the balance and reliability expected from the 2K11 platform. Each pistol also includes Kimber’s new carbon fiber grip module, further trimming weight while preserving rigidity and control.

Select variants are available with a Stan Chen Customs® magwell and TAG Precision steel optic adapter plates, giving shooters a turnkey setup for competition or duty-style use.

Core 2K11 Features Remain Intact

Despite the added compensation, the 2K11 Comp models retain the defining features that helped establish the platform:

  • Toolless guide rod system
  • External extractor
  • Crowned, fluted barrel
  • 9mm chambering

Kimber confirms the 2K11 Comp pistols are shipping immediately, with availability in retail locations expected as early as January.

Built from Feedback, Not Guesswork

According to Kimber, the Comp series reflects years of development and real-world testing.

“The 2K11 Comp is the culmination of years of preparation and hundreds of thousands of rounds of testing to deliver the most fully featured comprehensive handgun we have ever produced,” said Pedi Gega, Director of Product Development, Assembly, and Finishing. “The new 2K11 family of compensated models creates the highest class of firearms for the discerning enthusiast and competitive shooter.”

Over the past year, Kimber has actively incorporated user and influencer feedback into the platform’s evolution.

Recent updates across the 2K11 line include smoothing ambidextrous safety “hot spots,” shortening the trigger for improved ergonomics, and partnering with TAG Precision to provide durable steel optic mounting solutions.

Looking Ahead

With the introduction of the 2K11 Comp lineup, Kimber is signaling that the platform is far from finished. The company says it will continue developing high-end, American-made, high-capacity 1911-style pistols that reflect how modern shooters actually train, compete, and carry.
