Demo

Jacob Grey Firearms just pulled the wraps off the Nox 9, a pistol more than 12 years in the making.

Officially launching October 1, this new handgun blends aerospace-level machining with 1911-inspired design, aiming to shake up the competition pistol world

Built Different

The Nox 9 runs on a 4140 pre-hardened steel frame with a 5-inch ported slide and an integrally compensated barrel. That combo is all about reducing recoil and keeping the pistol flat in your hands.

Unlike aluminum builds, the steel frame is DLC-coated for better slide fit and long-term durability.

Inside, Jacob Grey packs Armored Billet™ tool steel components — hammer, sear, disconnector, oversized mag release, and safety levers — all CNC-machined and DLC/PVD coated.

The pistol also features a 2.5 lb Controlled Radius Trigger™ with over-travel adjustment and tuned hammer/sear engagement.

Grip and Control

The Nox 9’s grip module is built to put your hand high and deep into the backstrap. That design gives shooters maximum control and stability without awkward angles or shifting grip pressure.

On top, the pistol is optic-ready with an RMR footprint plate mounted behind the ejection port so the sight doesn’t interfere with function. A patented ejector design rounds out the unique build.

Limited Run, Premium Price

Jacob Grey isn’t hiding its intentions. The Nox 9 is designed to turn heads, and the company says its aerospace-driven CNC production eliminates the old hand-fitting process.

Every pistol is built to exact tolerances, “down to the micron.”

The catch? MSRP: $5,800. And quantities will be limited to select dealers and Jacob Grey’s own online shop. And, “all orders carry a minimum lead time of 2–4 months.”

So here’s the big question: Would you drop nearly six grand on a pistol designed for aerospace-level precision and competition-grade control?
