Welcome everyone to the 190th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the nickel-plated Colt SP1 was a hot gat.
At the time this article was written, the original auction was still ongoing with a current high bid of $4,025. To whoever wins the auction, let us be the first to say congratulations on the purchase of your certified hot gat.
In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a wildcat-themed AR-15 chambered in .300 Blackout. As is tradition, this spot-clad gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $5,500 Buy It Now.

Behold, ladies and gentlemen, a prime example of the Supreme business model. Don’t worry if you’re not following, I’ll explain. Charging over $5k for an AR-15 pistol is just flat-out absurd. However, if you make that same gun and tell people that this is one of only 10 ever made, then you have a limited market with artificial demand. It makes sense for some ideas, but I’m not sure about this one.
Look, maybe this is one of those things I simply don’t understand. Perhaps I’m judging this rifle by its spots, because let us be honest, it’s the last thing we all expected to see. All jokes aside, this little 300 Blackout comes with some high-quality parts with a ton of effort to back it up. I certainly don’t own any guns that come with a certificate of authenticity. So who knows. Maybe this will age like wine, but I’m leaning more in the milk direction.
What do you think? Is this little Wildcat themed 300 Blackout remotely worth it for $5,500? Or have you gone slightly catatonic just looking at it? Well, as always I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
What do you think? Is this leopard themed AR-15 a Hot Gat or tacky and overpriced Fudd Crap? Be sure to let us know in the comments below, and cast your vote to let us know if this T1 Black Customs Wildcat Limited Edition #3 of 10 is a Hot Gat or Fudd Crap:
