Daniel Horner just added another title to his already-stacked resume. He took first place at the 2025 Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun Match, one of the top multi-gun competitions in the country.
Representing Team SIG, Horner ran a full kit of SIG SAUER gear and brought home the win after a grueling 11-stage course.
This latest victory adds to Horner’s long list of accomplishments with the MCX-SPEAR LT rifle, including a team gold at the IPSC World Shoot and a win at the 2024 Multi-Gun Nationals.
A Proving Ground for SIG Gear
Horner relied on the MCX-SPEAR LT paired with the TANGO6T riflescope, his P320-DH3 pistol using iron sights, SIG Match Elite ammo, and KILO10K GEN II and ZULU6 binoculars.
“The Superstition Mountain Match draws the best 3-gun competitors from around the world, and this competition was a grind down to the very last shot,” Horner said. “I went stage to stage focusing on mindset and knowing that I could depend on my equipment to perform with accuracy and precision.”

Robby Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer at SIG SAUER, praised Horner’s performance:
“Daniel’s dominance in 3-Gun competition demonstrates to the world the versatility of the SIG SAUER product lines,” he said. “His titles are proof the MCX-SPEAR LT is competition-ready, while the performance and the dependability of the P320 make it the choice of champions.”
From Elite Competition to the Battlefield
SIG isn’t just putting out gear for the competition circuit. The MCX-SPEAR LT evolved from a special operations rifle project and was selected by the U.S. Army in 2022 as part of the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program. It officially entered service in 2024 as the XM7, replacing the M4.
The P320 platform has earned its reputation as one of the most widely adopted sidearms in the world. Variants are in service with the U.S., Canadian, Australian, and Danish militaries, as well as numerous law enforcement agencies.
All branches of the U.S. military carry the M17 and M18—P320 variants developed through SIG’s modular handgun system.
The Bottom Line
Daniel Horner’s win at the 2025 Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun wasn’t just about his skill. It was also a real-world test of gear trusted by elite forces and everyday shooters alike.
Whether it’s the battlefield or the range, SIG SAUER continues to prove its systems are built to win.
