Alleged Assassin’s Son Illustrates Just Why There’s A Problem In the First Place

Not everyone needs to agree with me in this world. Yes, I think we’d be better off if they did, but since all the people who disagree with me on most issues probably feel the same way regarding their opinions.

I’m fine with that.

But with the second attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life in a matter of weeks, it’s pretty clear something is going on. While I’m sure the media will trip over itself to make it clear that the would-be assassin wasn’t driven by ideology or anything, the truth doesn’t change, especially regarding the vile rhetoric that’s been thrown around over and over regarding Trump, calling him “literally Hitler” and an “existential threat to democracy.”

Of course, the claims this was a false flag started flying immediately after the incident.

And it seems the would-be killer’s son has highlighted the truth and part of the problem at the same time

Now, we’ll go over what we know about Routh in a second and debunk those implications fairly easily. But don’t just believe the facts about this guy. Believe his son, who told the U.K. Daily Mail that his dad hates Donald Trump just like “every reasonable person does.”

Oran Routh, 35, apparently hadn’t heard about it when the Daily Mail contacted him.

“This was the first I heard about it,” he said, before asking, “Was my father shot or injured?”

As for the alleged target of his father’s ire and/or attempted gunfire: “I don’t like Trump either,” he added. But he insisted his father isn’t the violent type.

“He’s my dad and all he’s had is couple traffic tickets, as far as I know,” the younger Routh said. “That’s crazy. I know my dad and love my dad, but that’s nothing like him.”

“He’s not a violent person,” he added. “He’s a hard worker and a great dad. He’s a great dude, a nice guy and has worked his whole f***ing life.”

Of course, the truth is that Routh has at least one felony to his name, so we’re not just talking about a couple of speeding tickets or citations for not using a turn signal.

Then again, not everyone who is convicted of a felony goes to prison, so it’s entirely possible he kept that from his kid.

However, what gets me is that this guy, who swears his father is a “great dude” also hates Donald Trump just as “every reasonable person does.”

That’s kind of the problem, isn’t it? This idea that hating someone, especially enough to try to kill him, is somehow reasonable is bat-guano insane. Moreover, reasonable people can actually look at Donald Trump and see him as, at a minimum, the lesser of two evils. Hate isn’t a requirement to be reasonable. After all, look at what the economy was like pre-pandemic, which was under Trump’s leadership, then look at it here and now.

Start to see how someone might not think hating Donald Trump is the only reasonable course?

Then we get into the gun debate. A lot of us are pretty reasonable about a lot of things. We might not necessarily care for Trump, or we might love him, but we also recognize that if we value our right to keep and bear arms, he’s our best bet because Harris isn’t going to trip over herself to defend the Second Amendment no matter what she said during the last debate.

So at once he illustrates that yes, this is politically motivated and it’s not a false-flag operation and just how unhinged people are in this day and age.

Is it any wonder that we don’t want to give up our guns?
