Altama introduces the Legacy trainer, an overlasted performance shoe that pairs an aggressive outsole with a protected IGNITE midsole for off-road speed and all-day wear. These shoes will be perfect for anyone who is on the move in demanding environments.
A New Direction for Altama Trainers
Altama is stepping into new territory with the Legacy trainer series. The company built the shoe from the ground up as a mission-focused trainer rather than a casual sneaker. The Legacy marks Altama’s first overlasted trainer design, which means the upper wraps fully around the midsole for better durability and structure.
The shoe targets users who spend time between dirt, hard surfaces, and mixed terrain. Altama designed it to stay light while handling rough use. The focus of this shoe’s design is on traction, efficient rebound, and durability rather than style-first features.
Altama plans to release the Legacy in April. Buyers can choose low- or mid-height versions in Black or Coyote.
IGNITE Midsole and Outsole Design
The standout feature sits inside the shoe. Altama uses its proprietary IGNITE midsole made from expanded TPU instead of standard EVA foam. The midsole sits fully encased within the outsole rather than exposed on the bottom.
That design matters. It protects the midsole from punctures and abrasion. It also helps the shoe last longer under hard use.
The IGNITE material delivers more energy return over long days. It resists breakdown better than traditional foams. Wearers should notice less fatigue during extended movement.
Underfoot, the Legacy runs a full rubber outsole. The tread pattern is aggressive and deep. Altama tuned it for dirt, loose soil, and off-pavement movement. The outsole also performs well in wet conditions.

Upper Construction and Fit
The Legacy uses a one-piece, no-sew upper. That cuts down on failure points. It also improves flexibility.
Altama pairs the upper with a Quick Lace system. Users tighten the shoe with a pull and lock it with a push button. A lace tuck pocket keeps excess cord out of the way. The system uses standard paracord-style lace material.
Both versions offer water-resistant construction. The mid-height model adds ankle coverage for users who want extra support.
Pricing, Availability, and Brand Breakdown
The Legacy Low retails for $155. The Legacy Mid lists for $160. Both models will be available through Altama.com and OriginalFootwear.com.
Altama focuses on military and tactical users. Original Footwear serves as the parent brand. This release sits squarely in Altama’s performance lane.
Altama frames the Legacy as more than another trainer. The company calls it tougher, lighter, and faster than previous designs. The Legacy aims to raise the bar for trainers built for real-world movement, not just gym floors.
