Redesigned and revamped versions of existing gear might not be the flashiest drops, but when the improvements are as good as these — we’re here for it.

Several established brands, including Ibex and Fox Racing, have released retooled models of some of their longest-standing products, making them lighter and more comfortable. Nothing’s newest version of its CMF Pro Watch offers more modes and tech than the previous one, all at an eye-catching price of just $100.

Backpackers will have plenty to be excited about this week, too, with a new ultralight stove and versatile shoes ready to hit the trail. Find it all in this week’s Emerging Gear.

Beachman ’64 E-Bike

There’s no denying the effortless cool of vintage motorcycles. Unfortunately, their reliability half a century after production makes them far less enticing for modern drivers.

But you can find the best of both worlds with Beachman, a Canadian electric mobility brand that just dropped an electric motorbike in the style of a 1960s café racer. Beneath its vintage bodywork, the ’64 e-Bike has a removable 2.88kWh (40Ah) lithium battery that delivers up to 55 miles of range. It’s also possible to upgrade to a 3.6 kWh (50 Ah) pack and get a range boost to 70 miles.

Either way, you’ll also get regenerative braking and built-in charge ports. Its fast-charge capability reaches 80% in 3 hours. It starts at a price tag of $4,800, with multiple performance and terrain upgrades available upon request.

Keen Seek Trail Running Shoe

After 20 years in the game, established outdoor footwear brand Keen is launching its first trail running shoe. The Seek ($185) is built for comfort, with a roomy toe box and high-energy cushioning foam.

Keen claims that the 4mm, multidirectional, high-abrasion rubber lugs can last up to 925 miles. The textile upper is designed with abrasion-resistant, breathable fabric for a durable shoe that will stay cool in extreme conditions, the brand said.

Fox Racing Rampage RS Downhill Helmet

Fox first introduced the Rampage helmet in 2006. Now, nearly 2 decades and many models later, it’s getting another major upgrade. Thanks to a carbon-fiber design, the Rampage RS ($700) is 250 g lighter and 5% more aerodynamic than the previous model, but offers just as much protection. Other features include GoPro compatibility, an extended range of sizes, and removable and washable padding.

“Today, athletes are going faster, but the protection standards aren’t keeping up. In addition to improving fit, weight, and aerodynamics, we drew on our internal organizational knowledge of protection standards by analyzing race data and by applying other testing standards from the e-bike and moto disciplines,” Fox Racing’s Director of Marketing Mikey Rangel said in a press release.

Seniq Outdoor Apparel

New apparel retailer Seniq is all about making outdoor threads as stylish as they are functional. Its TrailMix Cargo Shorts ($118) are made with a breathable nylon twill blend; the belted high waist creates structure, while looser fabric around the thighs prevents chafing. The Dirtpop Trek Jacket includes convertible snap-off sleeves, making it versatile for a variety of conditions.

All of the brand’s designs, which include tanks, pants, and fleeces, have a streamlined, modern aesthetic that screams “cool girl.” Colors range from muted forest green and soft light blue to bold neon orange and pink. Mix and match to create your do-it-all wardrobe for hiking, music festivals, climbing, and brunch.

Coastal Range Backpacker Stove

Like many products that find their way into Emerging Gear, Coastal Range’s Backpacker Stove ($150) launched on Kickstarter.

The California-based company boasts that its integrated camping stove, clocking in at a weight of just 9.2 ounces, is the lightest on the market. It’s worth noting that it is 4 ounces lighter than the perennially popular Jetboil system. The Backpacker can boil 500 mL of water in 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and comes with a 3-year warranty.

Salewa Wildfire GTX

Italian footwear brand Salewa is gaining ground in the United States, in no small part due to its well-made boots and hiking shoes. Our reviewer Bergen Tjossem recently put Salewa’s newest drop, the Wildfire NXT ($170), to the test in the Rocky Mountains and found them to be a versatile shoe with great ankle support.

The Wildfire is available in a low-ankle shoe version and a high-top version for extra protection. The signature Matryx fabric is reinforced with Kevlar for extra durability, and comes with the super-popular Vibram Megagrip for extra traction.

Ibex GOAT Short Sleeve Shirt

Ibex’s GOAT Short Sleeve Crew ($85) revives one of the company’s original T-shirts. It may look basic, but this shirt played a large role in popularizing merino wool for everyday wear in the early 2000s.

Today, the GOAT has been updated with a tweak to the fabric that makes it softer. The company uses a blend with merino fibers wrapped around a nylon filament to improve durability and feel. The result is a lightweight top that balances merino’s inherent breathability and odor resistance for use on trails or long trips where you need a shirt to wear day after day.

KC HiLiTES Platform One Roof Rack

In May, GearJunkie Motors Editor Bryon Dorr got a sneak peek at the Platform One Roof Rack at Overland Expo West 2025, and he liked what he saw.

“The side rails are custom sheet metal designed to work perfectly with a wide range of popular off-road vehicles. The whole rack uses M6 and M8 hardware, which makes it easy to service,” Dorr wrote.

With perimeter channels and an adjustable upper mounting deck, this platform easily adapts to mounting rooftop tents, solar panels, tools, and more.

3BIRD East Cape Hoodie

3BIRD is a nascent apparel brand based in Wyoming. It focuses on durable, all-season outdoor wear designed with sustainable materials like NetPlus (made of recycled fishing nets) and Seawool, a fabric sourced from oyster shells.

We tested the company’s East Cape Hoodie ($130) this summer on water and land. The hoodie, made of Seawool and ripstop polyester, has a snap-front design and UPF 50+ sun protection. Long sleeves, thumb loops, and a baggy hood provide solar protection and ample coverage on the water or an alpine trail.

Mission Workshop Meridian Backpack

For its new Meridian Backpack ($395), Mission Workshop built a solid, functional pack and then made it all about customization. Thanks to the Landspeeder Modular system, customers can easily add on (and remove) zippered pouches and water bottle pockets for extra storage.

No matter what accessories you choose, everything is made with durable fabric on the exterior and TPU-coated ripstop fabric on the interior for weather protection. The bag also includes a dedicated tech compartment for keeping all your gadgets organized, as well as a quick-access pocket and padded laptop sleeve.

Nothing CMF Watch 3 Pro

A smart watch that delivers on functionality but comes with a $100 price tag seems like a fantasy, but consumer electronics brand Nothing has made it a reality. Its CMF Watch 3 Pro ($100) has all the features you expect from a wearable: heart rate tracking, multiple sport modes, sleep tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, and GPS.

Its battery lasts up to 13 days on one charge, and the watch is also dust- and water-resistant. Users can customize the display the apps and widgets they need most.
