Goodyear is shaking up its Wrangler truck and SUV tire lineup. The trio of off-road–ready rubber offerings it has just announced includes one second-generation tire and two completely new ones.
The replacement delivers more for working trucks and vans, while the two new tires should give drivers of electric pickups and drivers who want a little more adventure in their weekend something new to choose from.
Wrangler Outbound AT: For Weekend Warriors
The first of the two new tires is the Goodyear Wrangler Outbound AT. It’s aimed at drivers who plan on tackling terrain that can bite back. To help combat abrasions, cuts, and punctures, it has Kevlar under the tread surface. It also has Goodyear’s Durawall sidewall rubber compound.
Traction claws in the tread give you more off-pavement grip. A new rubber compound for the tread is designed to ensure you still have grip when you’re on wet pavement, not just dry pavement.
The Wrangler Outbound will come with a 65,000-mile treadwear warranty for metric and 60,000-mile for LT sizes. There will be 26 sizes coming, with 16- to 22-inch wheel diameters offered.
This tire’s brief overlaps with the Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure, a tire that is now nearly 10 years old. Expect Outbound to replace the Adventure with its more modern tread design and rubber compound. However, it is missing the 3PMS winter rating of the Adventure, so it might not be the right fit for everyone.
A Wrangler for Electric Trucks & SUVs

Goodyear’s Wrangler ElectricDrive AT is an all-terrain tire for owners of electric pickups and SUVs like the F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T or the Silverado EV. The ElectricDrive has a 3PMS winter rating for driving in the snow. It also has a more aggressive tread pattern than the Wrangler Territory HT that comes on many Lightnings from the factory.
Like most EV-specific tires, expect the focus to be on rolling resistance over maximum traction to help preserve range. The tire will also include Goodyear’s SoundComfort inner layer, designed to help reduce road noise and increase comfort in quieter electric models.
This tire comes with a 50,000-mile warranty. It also has electric-look graphics, because style is always important when it comes to your rubber.
New Workhorse Will Stop Shorter, Look Meaner

Goodyear already offers about half a dozen models in its Workhorse lineup, aimed at work trucks and work vans. The Workhorse AT 2 replaces one of those, the Workhorse AT, rather than trying to expand the line even further.
The Workhorse AT 2 comes with a much more square and aggressive stance than the original. The design includes beefier lugs on the shoulder of the tire, too. The focus here is on a tough tread, one that resists chipping and other damage caused by driving on the jagged rocky terrain you’ll find on many construction sites.
The Workhorse 2 AT will also help make sure you can stop more quickly than the tire it replaces. Goodyear said it stopped nearly 20 feet shorter than the first-gen tire in its 45mph wet-weather braking test. That’s a significant difference. The tire has a 3PMS rating, and it comes in SL and XL load ratings. Both come with a 55,000-mile treadwear warranty.
All three tires should be available at Goodyear retailers now. The addition of two new lines means Goodyear now offers more than two dozen models in its Wrangler tire lineup, though not all of them are meant for all-terrain use.
