Collecting PS5 Platinum trophies can be downright addictive, so much so that we even created a phrase to describe the act of playing a game specifically to get that satisfying notification: Trophy hunting. A lot of developers clearly took notice of this subsection of Sony’s community, with some of them going as far as to release games designed solely to reward a Platinum in a couple of minutes.
Anyone who simply wants to amass as many trophies as possible can easily knock out a couple every day by focusing on these types of titles. Fortunately, you don’t have to buy trophy games to collect Platinums, as you can just stick to “normal” titles that don’t force you to jump through absurd hoops. While the commitment varies from title to title, these games usually require only a single playthrough or make it very easy to clean up any missed trophies.
We are including games with native PS5 versions, so no PS4 games that run on PS5. That said, we have an article that covers that ground.
We will be ignoring games designed to hand out a Platinum in 5 minutes. The PS Store has hundreds of these releases, and they are all essentially the same.
Along with personal experience, PSNProfiles was also used as a reference.
Recent PS Plus Games With Easy Platinum Trophies (June and July)
Generally, I would never recommend buying a game solely to earn its Platinum Trophy, especially if you know you won’t enjoy it. However, if you already have access to a title through PS Plus Extra, then you might as well give it a go!
For this section, I’m going to highlight recent PS Plus additions that have relatively easy Platinums, even if a few of them require a bit of a time sink. As I’m writing this section on July 7, 2026, I am focusing on June’s Extra games and Essential’s new debutants.
- Final Fantasy 16 – Well, we might as well discuss PS Plus Extra’s headline act for June 2026. Final Fantasy 16 is both a really easy and exhausting Platinum. On the one hand, none of the trophies have absurd requirements, and you will unlock most of them during a standard playthrough. On the other hand, Square Enix’s game is LONG, and you will need to complete it again in Final Fantasy mode to get the final trophies.
- Sonic X Shadow Generations – Well, we might as well discuss PS Plus Extra’s second headline act for June 2026. Sega’s remaster not only revisits the original 2011 campaign, but adds a whole new saga revolving around everybody’s favorite edgy hedgehog, and the whole ordeal is pretty long. Generations is similar to FF16, in that none of the trophies are especially hard to complete, but they are time-consuming and require you to run through the same stages over and over again.
- Life is Strange: Double Exposure – In June 2026’s PS Plus Extra lineup, Double Exposure is probably the easiest, although it is still a touch harder than the typical Life is Strange game. You will need to do at least two playthroughs because of one choice you make during the story; however, you can use chapter select for anything else you missed.
- Gitaroo Man – June 2026’s sole PS Plus Premium classic game, Gitaroo Man arrives with brand-new trophies that are extremely straightforward but still pretty challenging. Basically, you have to beat every stage without making any mistakes to earn an A rank. A rank isn’t enough, as the trophies specifically state “no misses.”
- CrossCode – One of July’s PS Plus Essential games, CrossCode isn’t too difficult to complete, as most of the trophies involve just completing chapters and bosses.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and For the King 2 are July’s other games, but they have relatively difficult trophies.
My Name Is Mayo: Remayo
30 Minutes To Obtain The Platinum
Probably one of the most infamous short PlayStation games designed primarily to be an easy platinum, My Name Is Mayo originally debuted on the PS4, and that version is available to play on the PS5 as well. That said, if you are looking to get the optimal Mayo experience, you will want to pick up the Remayo remaster, which is available on both consoles. Although it is basically the same game, it comes with a few additions that make it a touch longer. However, Remayo is still a very straightforward and short game with a platinum that can be obtained in less than an hour.
Drowning
Roughly An Hour To Obtain The Platinum
Drowning is an ambitious walking simulator that aims to show the impact of depression on a young man in his early school life. Unsurprisingly, it isn’t an enjoyable experience and requires four playthroughs to obtain the platinum trophy.
Thankfully, that will only take most players up to an hour to achieve and 30 minutes for faster players. It is highly recommended that players follow a guide to attain the coveted platinum trophy in the game as quickly as possible. Some trophies are missable and can be overlooked without a guide to help.
My Friend Peppa Pig
1–2 Hours To Obtain The Platinum
Peppa Pig is a character that every kid is familiar with at this point, with this surprisingly popular figure teaching children good values in a simple yet engaging manner. This character is bound to feature in a few games that children can enjoy, even if they’re too young to tackle more complicated game mechanics.
A bonus here is that the game can be completed in no time, with the Platinum trophy unlockable after just an hour and a half. This is nothing compared to the other titles that make players toil for ages to get this accolade.
What Remains of Edith Finch
2–3 Hours To Obtain The Platinum
Putting aside shovelware, Platinum trophies are satisfying because they signal that a player has experienced everything a game has to offer. Whether that journey requires 5 or 50 hours is somewhat irrelevant, as the Platinum means the same thing for both. What Remains of Edith Finch is an example of a title that just wants you to enjoy it in full, which is easy to do considering the game is great. Essentially a walking simulator, you explore a house in search of stories relating to different characters, allowing you to form a family tree.
As long as you take your time and look through everything, you should unlock nearly every standard trophy during a single playthrough. After that, just replay two stories to get the Platinum. Simple and enjoyable.
