At SHOT Show 2026, Infrahex introduced a suppressor cover designed to reduce thermal signature while also protecting the user from burns. The product debuted at the Infrahex booth and targets users concerned with infrared visibility and safe handling.
Mikey from Infrahex explained that the cover functions as a slip-on suppressor sock. Shooters can install it directly on a can. The design uses multiple layers, each serving a specific role in heat and signature management.
Materials and Construction
The outer layer uses Infrahex’s thermal concealment blanket material. Beneath it sits a fire-retardant layer that allows direct contact with the suppressor body. This layered construction separates the product from traditional suppressor covers that focus only on heat shielding.
Infrahex also incorporates a nanomembrane base layer. According to the company, this layer contains air pockets that allow airflow. The airflow helps distribute heat rather than trap it against the suppressor surface.
Thermal Signature Reduction in Use
Infrahex emphasized the cover’s ability to dissipate thermal signature. The material breaks up the heat pattern rather than masking it with insulation alone. This approach helps the suppressor appear less defined when viewed through thermal devices.
The cover also allows users to handle the suppressor shortly after firing. That benefit mirrors traditional suppressor covers but adds infrared reduction as an additional function.
Heat and Durability Testing
Infrahex tested the cover on ASE UTRA suppressors. These European-made cans see use on AR-pattern rifles and machine guns. During testing, the company ran approximately 300 rounds of automatic fire to test the heat resistance. According to Infrahex, the suppressor cover did not ignite or fail during the test. The sleeve remained intact throughout the entire string of fire.
This claim differs from the website, which says you should limit rapid fire to a string of 30 rounds unless you add an additional thermal barrier. I’m guessing that their 300-round test included this extra layer.
Availability, Pricing, and Options
The Infrahex suppressor cover carries an MSRP of $120. The company can produce custom lengths to match various suppressor sizes. The product is currently available in the U.S. through TacDefense Inc., Infrahex’s American sales partner.
