Armscor and Rock Island Armory announced the unexpected passing of President and CEO Martin Tuason on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Tuason, 51, led the company since 2012 and represented the third generation of the Tuason family’s century-long firearms legacy.
The Tuason family first entered the firearms and sporting-goods industry more than 100 years ago, when Martin’s grandfather, Celso Tuason, transformed a small sporting-goods storefront into Arms Corporation of the Philippines (Armscor) in 1952.
Martin continued that legacy, guiding Armscor and Rock Island Armory into becoming one of the top ten firearms manufacturers in the world, with operations spanning six continents.
Tuason was widely respected not only for his business leadership but for his steadfast commitment to the core values that defined the Tuason family: integrity, respect, craftsmanship, and service.
“Martin devoted his life to family, our company, and the people who make Armscor and Rock Island Armory what they are today. He led with a steady voice, a compassionate heart, and an unwavering belief in doing things the right way… Martin’s leadership, kindness, and commitment touched so many lives,” said his sister, Lisa Tuason, President & CEO of RIA-USA.
Under Martin’s direction, Armscor expanded its manufacturing footprint in both the Philippines and the United States, modernized production processes, and advanced automation initiatives to increase efficiency and innovation.
His leadership supported consistent double-digit growth and strengthened the company’s global reputation as a trusted producer of firearms and ammunition.
Armscor announced that all company operations remain fully functional during the transition. The senior leadership team is overseeing daily business responsibilities as the organization mourns the loss of its longtime leader.
“We honor the life and legacy of Martin, whose vision and leadership shaped our company for decades… We remain committed to continuing the important work he led. Our team is united, our operations are strong, and we will move forward guided by the values Martin instilled in all of us,” added Lisa Tuason.
Memorial arrangements will be shared privately with family and close friends. The company has asked for privacy for the Tuason family during this time.
GunsAmerica extends our deepest condolences to the Tuason family, the Armscor and Rock Island Armory teams, and all who were impacted by Martin’s leadership and life.
