SIG Sauer just unveiled the next evolution of its pistol-mounted optics at NRA 2025, and it’s a serious upgrade.
SIG’s all-new ROMEO-RS and ROMEO-RS Compact are more than just red dots—they’re reinforced steel-framed, American-made workhorses designed to take a beating and keep zero.
RS stands for Reinforced Steel, and that’s exactly what SIG delivers here. These optics feature a skeletonized steel chassis molded into a high-strength polymer body.
That means more durability, more rigidity, and fewer worries about losing zero after recoil or rough handling. And yes, SIG makes these right here in Tualatin, Oregon.
There are two models:
- ROMEO-RS PRO (full-size, DeltaPoint Pro footprint)
- ROMEO-RS Compact (RMSC footprint, perfect for the P365 or Glock 43)
Both SIG ROMEO-RS Red Dots feature:
- A premium molded aspherical glass lens with excellent clarity and zero distortion
- A side-mounted battery tray (CR1632) so you never have to remove the optic to change batteries
- Side-mounted brightness controls—finally! No more digging underneath or bumping buttons unintentionally
- Threaded metal inserts for rock-solid mounting torque
- 20,000+ hour battery life with MOTAC (motion-activated illumination)
This is a massive improvement over the original ROMEO Zero, and here’s the kicker: it’s cheaper than the previous gen. SIG says the price will actually undercut the older model, putting this next-gen red dot in reach of a lot more shooters.
With a rugged housing, easy controls, clear glass, and smart upgrades like tool-less battery access, the ROMEO-RS looks like a slam dunk—especially for anyone running a P365 or full-size carry gun. Learn more here!
