Unlike some other 1-10x LPVO options, the 5 Tactix utilizes a 30mm main tube. This makes it easier to find suitable mounts. The main tube is made of 6061-T6 aluminum and contains Riton HD glass with 99.5% light transmission. The optic is also dry nitrogen purged.

The heart of any optic is the reticle. Miliradian reticles with a Christmas tree layout are increasingly common in scopes focused on precision work. The 5 Tactix utilizes that type of reticle. The center of the reticle and the pointed stadia lines are illuminated, but the field of drop and wind dots are not. Those dots are spaced every 0.5 MRAD horizontally and 1.0 MRAD vertically. The illumination control has six brightness levels with off positions between each level.
