To my knowledge, this is the first and only time we had the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in our Photo Of The Day. Above you see one of their members, as he provides security with his M4 carbine during a realistic training event with Green Berets from the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in The Bahamas in May 2022.

The Sailors and Marines who took part in the Joint Combined Exchange Training event were trained in pistol and rifle marksmanship, first aid, close-quarters battle, mission planning, and interdiction at sea.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) is the military force of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. It was established in 1980, shortly after the country gained independence from Britain. The RBDF is responsible for safeguarding the territorial integrity of The Bahamas, protecting its people, and defending its maritime borders.

The RBDF has three main branches: the Commando Squadron, the Patrol Squadron, and the Air Wing. The Commando Squadron is responsible for conducting amphibious and land-based operations, while the Patrol Squadron conducts maritime patrols and enforces maritime laws.
