We’re live at NRAAM 2025, and CZ just dropped a big one—the brand-new Shadow 2 Carry. If you’re a fan of CZ’s legendary Shadow 2 series, you’re going to want to pay attention.
The Shadow 2 Carry blends the proven performance of the competition-dominating Shadow 2 with smart upgrades aimed squarely at everyday carry (EDC) users. And this isn’t just a compact version—they’ve fine-tuned it for real-world defense while keeping that Shadow DNA intact.
First off, the big news: CZ added a decocker and a firing pin block to the Carry model. That’s a major shift, giving EDC users more safety options without sacrificing the incredible trigger feel that Shadow shooters love. To make it happen, CZ lightened some springs and tweaked the internals, resulting in a trigger that’s still crisp, smooth, and easy to manage.
The gun holds 15 rounds of 9mm in a compact, optics-ready aluminum alloy frame. It’s built around a cold hammer-forged barrel and a direct RMSc footprint cut, so you can drop your favorite micro red dot right onto the slide without needing an adapter. There’s also a 1913 rail for lights or lasers.
Other small but smart upgrades include a redesigned front sight mount (no longer tied into the barrel bushing) and a refined slide release to minimize the chance of bumping it accidentally under recoil.
Weight comes in at a very manageable 30.4 ounces, giving it just enough heft to soak up recoil without being a burden for daily carry.
The ergonomics? Exactly what you’d expect from a Shadow—grippy, natural, and confidence-inspiring right out of the gate. Whether you’re a lefty or righty, the ambidextrous controls and overall balance make it easy to run.
Bottom line: the Shadow 2 Carry raises the bar for what an EDC pistol can be. If you loved the Shadow 2 Compact but wished for a decocker and added safety without losing that premium shooting feel, CZ just delivered.
