At SHOT Show 2025, Henry’s Special Product Division (SPD) dropped a sneak peek of what they are calling the “ultimate suppressor host.” They’re jumping into the future showcasing this new line of modernized rifles from their Classic Lever series.
This includes their Big Boy and Large Frame Lever Action Rifles, but with a twist: carbon fiber barrels and upgraded furniture that will catch the eye of any shooter.
What and Why?
To keep things straight, the SPD is a new product division within Henry that will be producing modernized firearms. Their first launch will be this “ultimate suppressor host” that we are currently discussing, but this is not the official title of this modernized rifle line.
The carbon fiber barrels on these rifles are the real stars of the show. By shaving off some weight from the front of the rifle, Henry has created a perfect balance between the added weight and length of a suppressor, making the rifle feel more stable and easier to handle than if you retained a heavy steel barrel and further weighed it down with a suppressor.
The design makes shooting with a suppressor more comfortable and, let’s face it, way cooler.
Known Details Of The First Rifles From The SPD
At the launch of the SPD, you’ll see the carbon fiber-barreled rifles available in the same caliber options as the aforementioned Big Boy and Large Frame Lever Action Rifles. These calibers include .357, .44 Mag, .30-30, .45-70, and .45 Colt.
These are solid choices for their initial launch due to their popularity and capability. But here’s the thing: while they’re showing off these prototypes, there’s still a lot we don’t know yet about the product line.
The price? It’s still up in the air, but I got the impression from talking to a Henry rep that we’re looking at something between $1,600 and $2,000 MSRP.
Keep in mind though, this is just an estimate. The final price could vary, especially since Henry is still deciding between aluminum and carbon fiber for rail options, and they’re still playing around with different stock arrangements too.
Given that carbon fiber barrels aren’t cheap, it is a sure thing that there will be a price hike when compared to the Big Boy and Large Frame offerings. But what’s really exciting is that Henry is making moves to modernize their lever-action rifles through the SPD.
It’s a great way to appeal to shooters who want something that can take a suppressor and still deliver the performance and feel of a classic lever-action gun.
Stay Tuned
Henry has a lot to reveal on the official release in April. One thing’s for sure, though: this new line of rifles is shaping up to be a game-changer for anyone who values true hearing protection and modern upgrades in their firearms. I can’t wait to see what the SPD produces!
