Bergara has announced the launch of its new BMR-X series of rimfire rifles, aimed at both competitive shooters and small game hunters.

The series includes two models: the BMR-X Carbon and the BMR-X Steel. These rifles are designed to expand on the success of Bergara’s BMR series while catering to a broader range of shooting disciplines.

Lightweight Performance: The BMR-X Carbon

The BMR-X Carbon offers hunters a lightweight, portable option without sacrificing precision. Weighing just 5.7 pounds, the rifle uses a carbon fiber barrel to ensure easy carrying during long treks in the field.

It features a vertical grip, adjustable length-of-pull via three removable spacers, and a flat forend for added control and stability.

The BMR-X Carbon features Bergara’s reliable Micro Rimfire action, a threaded barrel, and a 5- or 10-round magazine, with caliber options in .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR. Bergara has set its MSRP at $820, targeting varmint hunters who need a precise and ergonomic rimfire rifle.

Competition-Ready: The BMR-X Steel

For shooters focused on competition, the BMR-X Steel utilizes features tailored to precision and stability. This version includes a #6 taper steel barrel, which adds weight for steady shooting, particularly in NRL22 matches.

The representative at the SHOT Show 2025 booth said it was specifically designed for NRL22 Production Class competitions.

Weighing in at 6.6 pounds, the BMR-X Steel includes the same adjustable stock and flat forend as the Carbon model.

These features provide a solid rest on bags or other objects which improves control. It shares the same caliber offerings and magazine configurations but comes with a slightly lower MSRP of $720.

Shared Features Across the Series

Both models are equipped with threaded barrels. This is great for hunting with a suppressor or mounting a barrel tuner for competition.

The ergonomic stock design incorporates a higher cheek weld and vertical grip for improved handling, drawing inspiration from Bergara’s larger precision rifle lineup.

Availability

According to Bergara representatives, the BMR-X rifles are already shipping and are available at dealers now.

Both the Carbon and Steel models are expected to appeal to hunters, plinkers, and competitive shooters alike, offering precision and performance in a well-rounded package.
