Every year Holosun brings a variety of new products to SHOT and this year was no different. In this article, I will highlight the key features of some of Holosun’s newest red dots, optics, lights, and thermal.
AEMS PRO X2
First, we have the AEMS PRO X2. This optic is a ruggedized version of the original AEMS CORE X2. The primary improvements are as follows.
- Flip-down lens caps with an anti-reflection device on the front.
- Higher-grade housing material (7075 T6 aluminum).
- Better water ingress rating: IPX8 vs IP67.
- Four night vision brightness settings vs two.
- Solar failsafe.
The AEMS PRO X2 will be available mid-year 2025 with a street price of around $400.
ARO
The Holosun ARO (Advanced Rifle Optic) is planned to be the replacement for the popular 403 and 503 series of optics. Featuring open-face adjustment and a rugged design, the ARO seems like a solid improvement. Here are some of its stand-out features.
- Models are available with a 2mm dot or Holosun’s MRS (Multi Reticle System).
- Red, Green, and Gold reticles are available.
- Shake Awake extends the battery up to 50000 hours.
- The side load battery tray is low profile and rugged.
- IP67 water resistance rating (submergible for 30min in 1m of water)
The ARO will be available soon with street prices starting around $200.
ARO EVO
The Holosun ARO EVO (Advanced Rifle Optic EVOlved) is a larger version of the ARO catering to people who like a wider red dot window.
- IPX8 water resistance rating (Continus use in 3m of water).
- 6061 aluminum body.
- Options for the new Special Purpose Reticle that includes holdovers.
- Up to 50000 hours of battery life with Shake Awake and a solar failsafe.
- Anti-reflection devices and lens caps are available.
The ARO EVO will be available soon with a street price starting around $220.
MP3X
While prism optics have been around for decades, this is a first for Holosun. The MP3X is a compact three-power prism optic with an etched reticle and ruggedized body.
- Illuminated BDC reticle with wind holds with red and green illumination.
- Made with 7075-T6 aluminum.
- 6.6-degree field of view.
- Quick detach mount.
The MP3X will be available soon with a street price of around $300.

RAID
The RAID is the first dedicated rifle light from Holosun. With 1000 lumens and 80000 candela, the RAID should be perfect for illuminating targets at greater distances. The unit also features a pushbutton tail cap with Crane plug compatibility for integration with aftermarket switches.
- Mounts for M-lok or Picatinny are included.
- A compact remote switch is included.
- IPX8 and 1000g shock rated.
- An IR bezel option is available.
- Rechargeable 18650 Li-Ion battery.
The RAID is currently available with a street price of around $170.
DPS-Thermal
Finally, we have the Holosun DPS-Thermal. This unique offering was showcased at SHOT Show 2024 and is now even closer to being available. The DPS is a two-part system consisting of the sensor and the optic.
The sensor unit attaches to the pistol like a weapon light and collects a thermal image. That image is wirelessly broadcast to the optic which displays the image as a thermal overlay.
One feature I learned this year is that the sensor unit has an integrated white light. I hate carrying a pistol without a light and while the light isn’t super bright (I couldn’t find the exact output info), it was usable.
The DPS-Thermal is still a while away from being available but it is expected to cost around $1000.
There are a few other new products that you can see in the video embedded above. Also, be sure to check Holosun’s website for more.
