One person was killed and five others were injured when shots were fired at a Massachusetts house party early Sunday, Essex County prosecutors said.
Police responded to a disturbance call at an apartment in Lawrence, about 30 minutes north of Boston, at around 3 a.m. ET.
Officers found six victims, who were taken to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead.
Police have not publicly identified the victim pending notification of relatives.
Two of the other victims were taken by medical helicopter to hospitals in Boston for additional treatment.
No suspects were in custody.
The shooting is not believed to have been random, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker said. The district attorney’s office is investigating along with Lawrence police detectives.
