The Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss is about to join the electric truck lineup. More than 3½ years after Chevy first announced its off-road-ready EV, it will finally deliver the new trim. It will give the electric pickup a lift, more capable tires, and the side-scooting four-wheel steer mode available on the RST.

Trail Boss Is More Than Just Looks

Trail Boss has been a popular Chevrolet offering since it first launched on the gas Silverado in 2019. That leaves little wonder why it was announced for the electric Silverado way back in January 2022, though it definitely makes us wonder why it has taken so long to get here.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss starts with a 2-inch lift. That gives the truck 10 inches of clearance underneath, 2 inches more than the Silverado EV WT and LT models. The package also includes 35-inch all-terrain tires on Trail Boss-specific 18-inch wheels.

Trail Boss will come with exterior badges to make it clear which truck you’re driving. It will also have red front tow hooks sticking out of a new front fascia. The hooks make recovery easier; the new bumper helps make sure you don’t get hung up in the first place.

A new Terrain Mode is exclusive to the Trail Boss EV. It unlocks sharper rear steering, and Chevrolet says it makes modulating torque easier on uneven ground.

Sidewinder Crawl-Steering Comes Standard

We’ve seen Sidewinder before on RST-spec trucks (and with a Crab Walk badge on the Hummer EV). It lets the four-wheel steering turn all four tires in the same direction to let you move diagonally around obstacles, or when parallel parking.

Get the extended-range battery pack, and the Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss can tow 12,500 pounds — and it has 2,100 pounds of payload. Opt for the Max Range pack, and you can get up to 725 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque.

For 2026, there are also updates to the Super Cruise hands-off driving assist system available on most versions of the Silverado EV. It can now automatically engage Super Cruise on a compatible road, and it can change to the correct lane if you’re moving from one enabled road to another.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss Gets Long Range, Small Price Hike

Surprisingly, the lift and all-terrain tires don’t affect range. The Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss Extended Range gets the same 410-mile EPA estimate as an LT, and the Max pack offers 478 miles.

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss will arrive this summer starting from $72,095, including destination. That’s $900 more than an LT Extended Range. The base-model Work Truck trim starts from $54,895, and the LT standard range (283 miles) starts from $62,995.
