Mossberg have announced several new shotgun and rifle variants and line extensions at the 2025 SHOT Show. We’ve listed the following reveals and information provided by Mossberg, below. For more information on these reveals, visit mossberg.com.

Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical Professional Series

The 940 Pro Tactical Professional Series shotgun is based on Mossberg’s cleaner-running 940 Pro gas-operating system that allows for longer cleaning intervals and smooth, reliable operation. Internal parts (gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear) feature a nickel-boron coating and special finishes for ease of maintenance and wear resistance. For added durability, the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube feature Cerakote Tungsten finish. This polymer-ceramic coating provides added corrosion and superior abrasion resistance.

Standard features of the 940 Pro Tactical include an optic-ready receiver for direct mounting of micro dot optics; drilled and tapped receiver; enlarged and beveled loading port; elongated, pinch-free elevator; bright orange anodized follower; and extended magazine tube with 8-round total capacity (2.75-inch shells). The durable synthetic stock is self-draining and has a user-adjustable length-of-pull with a range of 12.5 – 14.25 inches with the use of inserts. Further adjustability is provided for drop at comb and cast with the use of incremental stock shims and the grip area features Mossberg’s signature aggressive texturing. Completing the stock is a rear swivel sling stud. 

Updated Features of the new 940 Pro Tactical Professional Series:

  • An innovative forend design that features integrated heat shield, two QD cups, three M-LOK mounting slots (3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions), and
  • Mossberg’s signature texturing.
  • Stabilizing barrel clamp with two-sided M-LOK mounting slots and swivel studs.
  • Two QD mounting cups on stock (right and left) allow the sling mount to be positioned in 90-degree increments (3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions).
  • Rear Ghost Ring and front fiber optic sights with protective, low-profile wings for ease of racking/unracking in cruisers. Remove the Ghost Ring sight and the receiver is optic ready for the direct mounting of micro dot sights.
  • Redesigned, durable and oversized fire control system with metal trigger guard, knurled charging handle, and ergonomic bolt release with quick-empty unloading feature.
  • Redesigned, oversized ambidextrous safety.
  • Redesigned one-piece magazine tube for ease of maintenance and improved reliability. Magazine spring is retained for ease of removing and attaching barrel.
  • A detachable sleeve protects the magazine tube and secures forend.

Mossberg Suppressor-Ready Patriot Carbine Rifles

New Patriot Carbines focus on shorter barrels, are suppressor-ready, and are available in 9 calibers on release, including .308 Win (top), 350 Legend (middle), and 7mm PRC (bottom).

With 41 states allowing suppressor usage for hunting, their popularity with predator, deer, and big game hunters has grown significantly. Mossberg have launched another suppressor-ready platform with their Patriot Carbine bolt-action rifle series. Key features include threaded barrels; compact barrel lengths of 16.25, 18, and 20-inches; a wide range of chamberings from 22-250 Rem to 7mm PRC; and durable black synthetic stock with complementing matte blue metal finish.

Mossberg’s Patriot rifles are built on a proven twin-lug push-feed machined-steel action that is fed from a flush polymer magazine. The free-floating, carbon steel barrel features an 11-degree match crown, is threaded, and includes a protective thread cap. For ease of adding optics, the Patriot Carbine is equipped with a receiver mounted Picatinny rail. Like all Patriot rifles, the Patriot Carbine has Mossberg’s patented LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) user-adjustable trigger with a 2 to 7-pound range of adjustment for consistent shot placement. The carbine also includes an oversized bolt handle; spiral-fluted bolt; and sling swivel studs.

Available calibers/Threading: 22-250 Rem (1/2”-28 TPI); 308 Win and 6.5mm Creedmoor (5/8”-24 TPI); 450 Bushmaster and 350 Legend (11/16”-24 TPI); 6.5mm PRC, 300 Win Mag, and 7mm PRC (5/8”-24 TPI).

590A1 Professional Series Shotguns

590A1 Pro shotguns will be available in 14, 18.5, and 20-inch configurations. Additionally, variants will come with either compact or Magpul stocks, Cerakote or Marinecote finishes, and the option for orange furniture.

The 590A1 joins the new Professional Series of firearms. Each gun in this series undergoes an enhanced assembly and quality control process, has special finishes and features, such as refining touches to the loading port to help optimize performance. Mossberg is offering nine versions of the 590A1 in their Professional Series including 9-shot and 7-shot versions with the option of Cerakote or Marinecote metal finishes; Compact stocks and Magpul-equipped models; a 6-shot NFA/Class 3 offering; and options with orange furniture.

At the core of the 590A1 is Mossberg’s venerable 500® and 590™ pump-action platforms featuring non-binding twin action bars; positive steel-to-steel lock-up and anti-jam elevator; dual extractors; aluminum receiver coated with corrosion resistant matte finish; drilled and tapped receivers; and ambidextrous top-mounted safety. Standard upgrades to the 590A1 include convenient clean-out magazine tube, heavy-walled barrels, and metal trigger guard and safety.

Key Features of the 590A1 Professional Series Pump-Action Shotguns:

  • 20, 18.5 and 14-inch heavy-walled barrels with cylinder bore.
  • Metal rear Optimized Ghost Ring and front fiber optic sights equipped with protective low-profile wings.
  • Lower profile sights assist with acquiring the sight picture, allow for ease of racking/unracking guns in cruisers, and are optimized for common, lower velocity tactical payloads utilized by law enforcement.
  • Optional metal finishes for added durability: Cerakote Tungsten metal exterior finish, a polymer-ceramic coating that provides superior corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance or Mossberg’s proprietary Marinecote metal finish that includes a nickel-plating aspect.
  • Two stock options utilizing stock spacer systems for customization. Magpul SGA variable length-of-pull (LOP) stock adjusts in .5” increments from 12.25 – 14.25 inches. Compact stock features a one-inch insert for adjustment from 12 – 13 inches.
  • Black and Orange synthetic stock and forend options.
  • Magpul MOE forend offers an extended length with front and rear hand stops and M-LOK slots for ease of adding accessories. The Compact models feature a traditional corncob-style forend.
  • Magpul models have QD cups on the stock and forward sling mount which allows for one or two-point sling attachment.
  • Drilled and tapped receiver.
  • Refined loading port and oversized, ambidextrous safety for ease of operation.

Model 500 Slugsters

500 Slugster model shotguns will release in .410 (top), 20-gauge (unpictured), and 12-gauge (bottom) versions.

For 2025, Mossberg has added three Slugster models (12 gauge, 20 gauge and 410 bore) to the company’s extensive line of field and sporting 500 pump-action shotguns.

Key features of the 500 pump-action platform include non-binding twin action bars; dual extractors; a positive steel-to-steel lock-up; anti-jam elevator; anodized aluminum receiver; and ambidextrous top-mounted safety with red “safety off” indicator.

All three 500 Slugster models have adjustable rifle sights; 3-inch chambers with 5+1 total capacity; drilled and tapped receiver; classic black synthetic stock and forend; matte blue metal finish; and sling swivel studs. The 12 and 20-gauge versions have 24-inch fully rifled barrels with a 1:36 twist rate and the 410 features a 20-inch cylinder bore barrel.

MVP Patrol Professional Series

Mossberg’s Professional Series firearms go through an enhanced assembly and quality control process, have special finishes and features, and are optimized for performance. Joining this dedicated line is the MVP Patrol Professional Series AR-magazine compatible, bolt-action rifle available in 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem, 300 AAC Blackout, and 7.62mm NATO/308 Win with black synthetic stock and Cerakote metal finish.

Introduced in 2011, the Mossberg MVP bolt-action rifle combined the features of Mossberg’s bolt-action platform with patented designs that allow the rifle to accept and reliably feed from AR15 style magazines. The 5.56mm NATO and 300 AAC Blackout models feature a patented Drop Push bolt design for reliably feeding from AR15-style magazines and the 7.62mm version has a patented Dual Push bolt design and patented Dual Latch system which accepts both M1A/M14 and AR10-style magazines. For added versality, aftermarket compatible magazines provide for quicker reloads, capacity or specific load changes.

The MVP Patrol Professional Series rifles feature 16.25-inch medium bull, button-rifled and threaded barrel with A2-style muzzle brake (protective thread cap included); pillar-bedded stock for superior accuracy; over-sized bolt handle for firm grip; Mossberg’s user-adjustable LBA Trigger System (3 to 7 pounds); factory-mounted Picatinny rail for ease of adding optics; and adjustable fiber optic rifle sights (rear sight adjusts for windage and elevation). Completing the MVP Patrol package are a textured, black synthetic stock, featuring stippling on the pistol grip; sling swivel studs; and a 10-round magazine (Magpul PMAG magazines for 5.56mm NATO and 7.62mm NATO and aluminum magazine for 300 AAC). Also unique to the Professional Series is the Cerakote Tungsten metal finish for enhanced durability.
