There’s no arguing the popularity of the Benelli M4, and with good reason too. However, it can be a little cost prohibitive for some. For this reason, SDS Imports offers the MAC 1014 Semi-Auto Shotgun from Military Armament Corporation. The 1014 offers compatibility with the popular M4, but at a fraction of the cost.

Building on a magnum-rated steel receiver, the 1014 is designed with a self-regulating gas system. As a result, the shotgun is capable of cycling shotshells from 1-ounce up to 3-inch magnum loads. Likewise, chambered in 12-gauge, the shotgun has a chamber length that can accommodate 2 ¾ and 3-inch shells.

The unique self-regulating gas system vents the gas that is unnecessary to cycle the action, thereby reducing recoil. As a result, shooters experience faster follow-up shots. Offering operational flexibility, the MAC 1014 ships with Benelli Mobil Improved, Modified, and Full Chokes.

The 1014 is available in four different models—a standard model, the Breacher, the Marine, and Wood. All of the features are the same throughout, with the exception of the stock and forend. Although the Marine is differentiated by an Electroless Marine Nickel finish.

As implied, the standard features a no-frills polymer stock and forend, as does the Marine. However, the polymer stock on the Breacher includes a check riser. And, also holding true to its model designation, the Wood model features a Turkish walnut stock and forend. Each model is also compatible with Benelli M4 stocks and forends.

Featuring an 18.5-inch barrel with a matte black oxide finish, the 1014 boasts a 22.5-inch sight radius. The sighting system consists of a ghost ring rear sight coupled with a white dot front sight, both adjustable for windage and elevation. However, a Picatinny rail also provides a mounting option for red dot optics.

The 1014 has a 5+1 capacity magazine tube (3-inch). However, it is compatible with Benelli M2 magazine extensions for increased capacity. Rounds are chambered via a large, knurled charging handle, providing enhanced traction even with gloved hands.
