Lone Wolf Arms has been making Glock compatible parts and their Timberwolf polymer frames for quite a while now. They came out with the complete Dusk pistol a couple of years ago, but now they’ve added complete Timberwolf pistols chambered in 9mm to their lineup.

The Timberwolf

Like the Glock pistols that they evolve from, the Timberwolf uses a polymer frame, but these aren’t just another Glock clone. Lone Wolf has been working on their frame designs for over two decades now. The current frame is the result of years of design work and customer feedback. It has an enhanced grip angle that points more naturally than a factory Glock. There’s also a relieved radius beavertail and undercut trigger guard to allow for a higher grip and lower bore access for better recoil reduction.

The Timberwolf also comes with interchangeable back straps so the user can customize the feel of their pistol. A low-profile, flared magazine well keeps you from pinching your fingers or palm and speeds up reloads. They’re fitted with an extended extended magazine release and enlarged slide stop. Lone Wolf’s frames use GEN3 and GEN4 compatible parts and ship with their Enhanced Flat Trigger (EFT), which they say delivers a 30% reduction in peak force for smoother shooting.

The Timberwolf slides are heat treated, high strength 17-4 stainless steel construction. They have top, front and rear serrations for improved slide manipulations and they reduce glare. The slides come with an RMR compatible optics cut and are fitted with Night Fision lower 1/3 height sights. The slides are finished in a black Nitride finish for corrosion and wear resistance.

Barrels are made from 416 stainless steel with a black Nitride finish. They have an improved feed ramp with better chamber support than a factory barrel. There’s also a recessed crown and hood fluting to reduce bearing surface for smoother cycling. The Timberwolf barrel chambers are cut to allow the firing of lead, plated or jacketed ammunition. Barrel Length is either 3.9 inches or 4.49 inches depending on the model.

Three Models Available

There are three models of Timberwolf available, the 19, 19X and the 17. The Model 19 has a 3.9-inch barrel and accepts 15-round Glock 19 sized magazines. The Model 19x uses the same 3.9-inch barrel matched up with a full-sized frame that accepts 17-round Glock 17 sized magazines.

Lastly the Model 17 is a full-sized pistol with a 4.49-inch barrel and full-sized frame that accepts 17-round magazines. The Model 19 is available in black and coyote tan colors while the 19X and 17 are currently only available in black. The Lonewolf Arms Timberwolf is all made in the USA and has an MSRP of $700 for all four pistols.
