Franklin Armory is coming into 2025 swinging, with a series of new drops. We covered the new 22-EZ 10/22 trigger the other day and then they hit us us with four more new releases over the past day or so. They start out by bringing some love to the SCAR platform and a more affordable AR trigger, then follow up with complete .22 rifle and pistol builds, and the AR based OPS-11 SBR and Pistol. Let’s tackle them one at a time.

Franklin Armory’s New Binary Trigger for FN SCAR

MINDEN, Nev. – January 16, 2025 – Franklin Armory, Inc., one of America’s most innovative manufacturers of firearms and accessories, announced today the latest model in the patented Binary Firing System® lineup. The new SKR-C1 is Franklin Armory’s first Binary® trigger for the popular FN SCAR®. Now, FN SCAR owners can experience the thrill of shooting in Binary mode that hundreds of thousands of Americans have come to enjoy on many other firearm platforms.

If you can afford a SCAR, you can probably afford to burn through the ammo you’re going to want to with a Binary trigger installed. Binary is fun, and the SCAR should be a cool platform to run it on. MSRP for the new SKR-C1 Binary Trigger for FN SCAR is $500. Franklin Armory is anticipating that they’ll be shipping the SKR-C1 before the end of the first quarter of 2025.

Franklin Armory’s New AR-Essential Binary Trigger for AR Platforms

MINDEN, Nev. – January 17, 2025 – Franklin Armory, Inc., one of America’s most innovative manufacturers of firearms and accessories, announced today the latest model in its Binary Firing System® lineup. The new AR-Essential Binary® trigger for AR-style semiautomatic firearms features a mil-spec style, single sided safety selector paddle for those who prefer a more traditional operational experience.

The new AR-Essential Binary trigger is priced to be a more affordable option to Franklin Armory’s AR-ELITE Binary trigger, which features interchangeable straight and curved trigger bows and includes additional buffer, trigger, and hammer springs for fine tuning. MSRP for AR-Essential is $299.99. MSRP for AR-ELITE is $429.99.

A lot of us AR owners don’t have the scratch that SCAR owners do, so the lower cost of the AR-Essential trigger is much appreciated. Not that we’ll save that money, we’ll probably just use it on more ammo. But that means more shooting!

Franklin Armory Announces New 11.5-Inch Osprey Defense Gas Piston AR-15 Short-Barreled Rifle and Pistol

MINDEN, Nev. – January 17, 2025 – Franklin Armory®, Inc., one of America’s most innovative manufacturers of firearms and accessories, is pleased to announce the newest products in the company’s Osprey Defense® piston-driven AR-15 series. Available in both short-barreled rifle (SBR) and pistol configurations, OPS-11™ features an 11.5-inch, patent-pending forward venting gas system and self-regulating, short stroke piston that enables users to shoot suppressed and unsuppressed seamlessly without any need for adjustments to the gas block.

Chambered in 5.56 NATO, OPS-11s are sharp-looking, smooth-shooting firearms featuring high-quality furniture. Both the OPS-11 Pistol and SBR feature a proprietary slimline M-LOK handguard with built-in barrier stop that enshrouds the low-profile piston system and are topped with Franklin Armory’s Triumvir® linear-compensating flash suppressor. The OPS-11 SBR is enhanced with a B5 grip and B5 SOPMOD adjustable stock, while the OPS-11 Pistol comes with a B5 grip and an SB Tactical SBA5 pistol brace.

Both the OPS-11 Pistol and OPS-11 SBR are similarly priced to offer consumers the best value in any piston-driven AR-15 on the market. The base OPS-11, with a fine-tuned semiautomatic trigger, has an MSRP of $1,349.99. The Binary Firing System® (BFS™) equipped configuration has an MSRP of $1,539.99. A complete OPS-11 upper is also available at an MSRP of $849.99

If you’s rather just buy an SBR or AR pistol with a binary trigger already installed, then the new Osprey Defense pistols are a nice options. They’re a good looking platform with some nice features. If you like the features of the piston driven gun but already have a lower with a Franklin Armory Binary trigger installed, you can just grab the upper too and cobble your own OPS-11 together.

Franklin Armory Unveils New Binary-Equipped F22 Series Pistol and Rifle

MINDEN, Nev. – January 17, 2025 – Franklin Armory, Inc., one of America’s most innovative manufacturers of firearms and accessories, announced today a limited production run of its new F22™ pistol and rifle series. Both the F22 Pistol and F22 Rifle feature a machined receiver made from 7075 aluminum, enhanced firing pin system for better ignition, and Franklin Armory’s renowned Binary Firing System®.

Additional features of the Franklin Armory F22 rifle include: Sixteen-inch fluted bull barrel, Hogue stock, rugged polymer trigger housing with extended magazine release, integrated top rail for optics, and a ten-round Ruger® magazine. MSRP for the F22 Rifle is $809.99.

Additional features of the Franklin Armory F22 pistol include: Eight-inch tapered barrel, SB22™ Fixed Kit chassis, B5 grip, SB Tactical FS1913™ pistol brace, rugged polymer trigger housing with extended magazine release, integrated top rail for optics, and a ten-round Ruger® magazine. MSRP for the F22 Pistol is $1,089.99.

“For years, our AR customers have conveyed their appreciation for Binary-equipped complete firearms requiring no installation,” said Franklin Armory President Jay Jacobson. “Now, those who love to plink with 22lr can have the same straight from the factory, high-performance Binary experience with their choice of either a complete F22 Pistol or F22 Rifle.”

Okay, I have to admit I saved the F22s for last because this is honestly the one I’m most psyched about. I love shooting .22s, and I grew up shooting 10/22s. I’ve been thinking about a binary trigger for one of my 10/22s for ages, but honestly could never decide what configuration I wanted to do. I’d seriously been looking at something a lot like the F22 pistol though. With its 8-inch barrel and folding brace, and the addition of a Binary trigger, it makes for a super cool poor mans SMG. It’s not really auto, but it’s going to be fast and it’s going to be fun. The best part is I can actually afford to shoot it since it’s chambered in .22 LR.

Keep an eye out for more SHOT show coverage this week. I’m sure you’ll be seeing more on the new products from Franklin Armory.
