In a decisive election night, pro-gun candidates swept major races, securing the White House, flipping the Senate, and reinforcing gun rights across the nation.
As the results rolled in, both Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) credited gun owners with these victories and pledged to leverage this mandate to push for significant 2A wins.

Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris marked a shift from policies that many in our community saw as threats to their rights.
“Kamala Harris would have continued weaponizing the power of government against the Second Amendment rights of the People,” stated Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of GOA.
“We’re thrilled to be charting a far different and brighter course with President Trump, who has promised to repeal the Biden-Harris infringements within his first week in office,” he added.
GOA also emphasized its readiness to back the new administration, focusing on repealing gun control measures and restoring rights.
The newly elected pro-gun Senate majority was another major win for gun rights advocates. This Senate composition not only strengthens GOA’s “No Compromise” lobbying efforts but also sets the stage for confirming federal judges committed to upholding the Second Amendment.
Victories in key races included the re-election of Senator Ted Cruz in Texas and the defeat of anti-gun lobbyist Ryan Busse in Montana’s governor’s race.
Aidan Johnston, GOA’s Director of Federal Affairs, pointed to this “pro-gun mandate” from voters as a call to action for Congress.
“It is time that Congress finally enact national concealed carry reciprocity, destroy the ATF’s illegal gun registry, de-regulate suppressors, and quit funding unconstitutional ‘red flag’ gun confiscation laws,” Johnston asserted.
The CCRKBA also celebrated the pivotal role gun owners played in the election outcome, particularly in battleground states. Alan Gottlieb, CCRKBA’s Chairman, credited “millions of ‘gun voters’” for blocking a Harris administration and upending anti-gun agendas.
He pointed to wins in Montana, where voters re-elected pro-gun Governor Greg Gianforte and flipped a Senate seat with Republican Tim Sheehy’s win over Democrat Jon Tester. “In this election,” Gottlieb remarked, “the Democrats shot blanks and the voters buried their gun ban agenda.”
However, Gottlieb warned that the fight is far from over. “I bet they will double down on gun prohibition because they know that it was gun owners that removed them from power,” he said. He urged gun owners to remain vigilant, reminding them, “the war on gun rights is ongoing.”
Reflecting on Trump’s return to office, Gottlieb praised his resilience and loyalty to the pro-gun cause despite facing adversity.
“Here is a man who endured four years of turmoil while he was in office, survived two assassination attempts… Yet, despite his wound, he refused to call for more gun control,” Gottlieb recounted.
This resilience, he argued, embodies the spirit of the Second Amendment and reinforces its role in protecting liberty.
