The United States has attacked Houthi weapons storage facilities in Yemen. B-2 aircraft bombed five targets in Yemen said to be controlled by the Houthi terrorist group, according to statements by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Wednesday.

This latest bombing raid was described by Austin as involving B-2 Spirit long-range aircraft and was aimed at five underground weapons storage sites. The defense secretary described it as a “unique demonstration of the United States’ ability to target facilities that our adversaries seek to keep out of reach, no matter how deeply buried underground, hardened, or fortified.”

“The Houthis’ illegal attacks continue to disrupt the free flow of international commerce, threaten environmental catastrophe, and put innocent civilian lives and US and partner forces’ lives at risk,” Austin added.

The Houthis, who are said to control large swathes of the war-torn country of Yemen, have been targeting commercial ships passing through the Red Sea since last November. The attacks have been made on vessels that the militant group believes are associated with Israel, and are intended to put pressure on the Jewish state to stop its military action in the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, according to a report by RT. The militant group has also attacked warships in the region.

In response, U.S. forces launched Operation Prosperity Guardian against the Houthis last December.

The ruling class of the U.S., including head tyrant, Joe Biden, has been touting its intent to remain an ally of Israel. What’s interesting, is that the U.S., earlier this week, threatened to withhold a weapons delivery to Israel. But then it went ahead and started bombing Yemen.

Washington’s threat to halt further deliveries of weapons to Israel was allegedly made to pacify those who consider the war genocide of the Palestinian people. The U.S. said that should Israel fail to “demonstrate a sustained commitment” to improving the humanitarian situation in the enclave, it would lose weapons and military assistance from the U.S., according to a joint letter from Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The letter was sent to the ruling counterparts in Israel.

The ruling class of the U.S. also expects Israel to retaliate against Iran in the coming weeks for its most recent barrage.

This conflict seems to be slowly escalating.
