There were 423 vendors — up from the 415 in 2024 — at Overland Expo West 2025. I, of course, scoured all of them once again to bring you the latest products from the overland industry.
The hot vehicles this year, with loads of new products for, were the Grenadier, Land Cruiser 250, and F550 chassis cab. There were somehow also more pop-top campers than ever. There were also more knife companies in attendance than ever before.
Of course, the hot topic of the show was tariffs, as most products come from Asia and nearly all have raw materials from the region. Last year was a rough year for the overland industry, and the uncertainties of 2025 aren’t giving companies much hope of a prosperous future.
All the vendors I spoke with said that the show felt quiet compared to last year, and postulated that it was likely because a massive percentage in the past have come from Southern California, and now there’s a well-attended Southern California event that everyone seems to be happy with.
The event-published number of attendees this year is 28,000+, while last year it was 29,500. So, about a 5% decrease in attendance at this show, and about eight more vendors.
Best in Show Winners Overland Expo West 2025
Let’s dive right into my picks for Best in Show products at Overland Expo West 2025. Be sure to keep scrolling after these top nine award-winning products, as I also highlight a few more cool things I spotted at the show.
JPP ARTT Concept
The Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) Awning and Rooftop Tent (ARTT) Concept debuted at Overland Expo West 2025 in the Dometic booth. It was shown atop the 2025 EJS Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser concept. The ARTT is a lightweight, low-profile rooftop tent and awning combo system that specifically integrates into the roof of any JL four-door Jeep, replacing the freedom panels in the hardtop.
Things are looking good for this to make it into production in the not-so-distant future, but it will have quite a few refinements before reaching the market.
Be sure to read the full story on this cool new concept.
Slee Offroad GX550 “Raccoon Bumper”
It’s super hard to create good-looking and functional bumpers for modern SUVs, especially Lexus models with their massive grilles. Slee Offroad has long been a Toyota/Lexus expert and has once again pulled off a super stylish, burly, and highly functional front bumper, this time for the Lexus GX550.
This new bumper includes new cornering lights that replace the factory ones, works with the parking sensors, and is winch compatible. It also has some very cool new optional soft-shackle-compatible recovery points. The whole thing is made of grade 50 steel, which does mean it weighs around 190 pounds, without lights or a winch.
The “Raccoon Bumper,” as Christo Slee has started calling his new GX550 bumper, should be available around June and cost around $3K.
1UP USA Moto Rack
Not just bike racks anymore, direct-to-consumer rack company 1UP now offers a moto rack. It just soft launched this past December, is now available, and costs about $1,719.
Check out our full rundown on this new burly, yet lightweight, 1UP USA Moto Rack.
Engel Low-Profile Front-Pull Tilt Fridge Slide
While this style of tilt fridge slide isn’t new, Engel is now offering this highly refined unit to the North American Market. They started selling them in November of 2024, but this is the first show they’ve publicly shown them.
Besides allowing most 45L or smaller fridge/freezers to slide out really far and then tilt (but tilt isn’t required), for easy access, this new Engel setup also allows for super quick fridge install and removal. There is an optional adaptor plate that you mount on the bottom of non-Engel fridges with quick-disconnect feet. These feet lock into the slide with just the twist of two little switch locks.
The Engel Low-Profile Front-Pull Tilt Fridge Slide comes in one size — perfect for 35/40/45L Engel Fridges — and weighs in at 31.5 pounds. It costs $600.
TrailBid
The latest vehicle auction site just launched at/during Overland Expo West 2025. TrailBid is specifically targeted at selling adventure vehicles, with most of the site’s first listing from the overland space. That makes sense, as it was founded by some overland travelers, like Phil from DownToMob.
This is what TrailBid says its all about: “TrailBid was created to provide a specialized marketplace for buying and selling camper trucks, overland rigs, expedition vehicles, and RV conversions. We believe that these unique vehicles deserve a dedicated platform where enthusiasts can connect, and sellers can reach the right audience. Our mission is to make the process of buying and selling adventure vehicles transparent, secure, and enjoyable for everyone involved.”
Fun Side Note: The truck featured on the homepage image above is my old custom build, the EEXP, which I sold to Phil from DownToMob exactly 7 years ago, as he took delivery at Overland Expo West.
Mosko Moto Hood 24 Tail Bag
Mosko Moto continues to innovate in the ADV moto space. The latest is a tail bag that is highly dust- and water-resistant, and perfect for camera gear. Without the liner organizer installed, it also fits a full-face helmet. With its metal cable lock passthrough, it easily secures its contents to the bike.
The Mosko Moto Hood 24 Tail Bag offers 24L of storage and even offers a cushioned, removable backrest for pillions (second passenger). It also has a custom internal organization and MOLLE panel on the lid to attach even more stuff. It just debuted at Overland Expo West 2025 and costs $369.
Field Van Rocker
Brand new for the show is a camper rocker chair attachment that works with the Smartseat system being used in many camper van builds. Field Van developed the compact system so that you can take your rear van seats out and use them around camp.
The system has wooden sides, a metal rocker mechanism, and thumbscrew for quick setup.
The Field Van Rocker kit will cost $389 and be available in a few weeks’ time.
Note: The ottoman pictured was just a fun prototype for the show, and is not planned for production.
James Baroud Family Room
While just a prototype, this new James Baroud rooftop tent (RTT) annex room will likely hit the U.S. market this summer at a price of about $1,600. What makes it stand apart from the competition is that it’s a full room with a floor, as well as a covered pass-through from inside to the tent.
The walls and the floor zip off, to configure to your needs and for easy cleaning. All but the floor stow in the roof-mounted awning bracket/cover. The whole thing weights about 95 pounds.
KC Platform One
While KC HiLites isn’t new to the platform roof rack game, the new Platform One is a much refined product. The deck is made of custom extrusions — made in the USA. The side rails are custom sheet metal designed to work perfectly with a wide range of popular off-road vehicles. The whole rack uses M6 and M8 hardware, which makes it easy to service.
The downside of this rack system is that it requires a big light system on the front, which substantially increases the price tag. Side lighting is optional. Integrated hidden wire management channels are a nice touch.
The base price for a KC Platform One with lighting is $4,500, and goes up from there depending on vehicle application and lighting system.
Best of the Rest
Of course, with 423 vendors at Overland Expo West 2025, there were more than just the nine cool new overland products above on display. Here are a few of the others that caught my eye.
23Zero Armadillo Horizon
There are so many RTTs on the market today, so it’s hard to innovate. But, 23Zero has a new tent that breaks the mold a bit. It has a fully welded aluminum top, which should be good for aero and looks slick. The tent also has an H-frame hinge, to allow even more interior room. The whole tent has a single-function fold-out, which makes it easy to set up and stow.
The 23Zero Armadillo Horizon RTT will be available in two sizes, starting this July. The smaller — pictured — will cost $3,799 and the larger $4,099. It can be purchased directly through 23Zero or through its dealers.
Sherpa QDHD Rack
The Sherpa Equipment Company QDHD (Quick Detach Heavy Duty) roof rack was shown off for the first time at Overland Expo West 2025. It is specifically for the latest generation Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator. Not only is it burly, but it has a very cool billet system for quick no-tool removal and attachment. It also works with a hardtop, softtop, or no top.
It was just released 2 weeks ago. Pricing for the Sherpa QDHD rack starts at $1,899 for the Gladiator (JT) rack and $2,499 for the Wrangler (JLU).
4WC Hawk+ Flatbed Camper
Four Wheel Campers continues to refine its well regarded pop-top truck campers. Its latest is the Hawk+. It adds 10 inches to the length of the floor of the flatbed Hawk model, designed for 7-foot flatbeds.
Ten inches is a ton more space in a camper like this. It, of course, makes the rear dinette much bigger, which in turn offers up more storage and water storage. Other small refinements were made as well.
Wrappon Sunny Toilet
Wrappon makes really high-end travel toilets, known for continuous film toilets that heat-seal individual bags of waste. I’m used them, and they are really nice when you want a no-mess and no-smell solution for your adventure rig.
The latest is the Wrappon Sunny Toilet, which OK4WD was showing off at the show. This unit was just released and costs $795. It’s a much lighter and cheaper than the fancier make in Japan Trekker WT-4 model. The Sunny is made in China. It comes with a small carry bag as well.
No Roads App
A new off-road navigation app was launched at Overland Expo West 2025. It’s called No Roads and the company aims to be the Waze of off-road. What that means is that its killer feature is the ability for users to mark trail hazards, closures, and the like. The app also has some cool weather and community trail rating features.
No Roads has a pretty robust free version. It also has a $59.99 annual subscription option. Currently, it doesn’t support CarPlay, and there is no desktop version, but both are in the works.
Helinox PLAY
Likely the most “fun” thing I found at Overland Expo West 2025 is the Helinox PLAY travel games, which just release to the market in April. There are four games in total, and they all look fun. The key is that they’re super light, strong, and travel well for all sorts of camping adventures.
The HeliDrop, a beanbag cornhole style game, costs $80. StringTrees is a shuffleboard-style game with rings on a string and costs $60. HeliDisc is a frisbee knock over the can style game and costs $100. YutNori is a board game similar to Sorry and runs $40.
Daylodge AirHaven 40 V3 Awning
While the Daylodge AirHaven 40 Awning has been around for a few years, V3 just launched at the show. This inflatable awning is super light, waterproof, and utilizes kiteboard tech. It is made of 180g Dacron and poly ripstop. It pumps up with a kiteboard pump, to 8 psi. Total weight is 5.6 pounds, with an additional 3 pounds for the optional wall.
Pricing is $799 for the awning and $350 for the wall option.
