A resurfaced video of Vice President Kamala Harris from 2007 is making headlines for its controversial comments about door-to-door gun inspections.
In the clip, Harris, then San Francisco District Attorney, told reporters that authorities could “walk into” the homes of gun owners to ensure “proper” (as defined by state overlords) firearm storage, prompting backlash 2A groups.
🚨Kamala Harris wants mass gun confiscation, and she’s willing to weaponize the government to enter your home and seize your legally owned guns:
“Just because you LEGALLY possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home… pic.twitter.com/4ET5m7ToSx

Harris’ 2007 Statement
The 15-second video shows Harris discussing a gun control ordinance under then-Mayor Gavin Newsom.
“Just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs,” she told reporters.

CCRKBA Responds with Outrage
Alan Gottlieb, Chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), called Harris’ remarks “alarming” and “stunning.”
He argued that her words reflect a long-standing anti-gun agenda.
“This was Kamala’s typical word salad, but with vinegar dressing,” Gottlieb said. He believes her statement demonstrates her disregard for the Fourth Amendment, which protects against warrantless searches.
“What she was suggesting was, and remains, simply outrageous,” he added. “It clearly shows the lengths and depths to which Harris would go in her personal war against the Second Amendment.”
Gottlieb further compared Harris to President Joe Biden, asserting that while she may claim to be a gun owner, “It’s clear she doesn’t want anyone else to have one.”
This resurfaced video has social media buzzing, with many questioning the implications of her statements for the 2A.
