These universal car seat covers spread over the front and rear seats for a full interior makeover that looks sharp and holds up over time. From the moment they slid out of the box, it was clear I was in for something different with the Coverado Leather Seat Covers.

For lumbar support, these quilted seat covers have six layers of padding. They’re stiff enough to practically stand up on their own. And the waterproof material holds up against abrasion but with a lustrous feel against the skin.

In shortCoverado Universal Fit Faux-Leather Seat Covers ($169) are a serious style upgrade for a tired vehicle interior. They help prevent wear and tear. The feel stands out among other covers I’ve tested, thanks to the robust layers of protection and higher-quality materials.

Coverado Full Set Car Seat Covers Review

This snazzy, protective car seat cover set for the front and back rows is an upgrade that takes some time and research to install. But in my experience, the process and price were worth the investment. I especially appreciated this set as a dog owner and outdoorswoman.

I haul all sorts of gear every day from ski equipment, as a certified instructor, to yoga mats and hiking packs or doggie bowls. And I want my Subaru to last another year without needing new upholstery!

In this kit, the front seat covers come in three pieces: one cover is for detachable headrests. Once the covers are laid into position, they snap around the headrests — a fun design alternative. Many other brands utilize stretchable elastic to secure the covers, which I’ve found can wear out over time.

Then, there are separate covers for each seat and seat back. The backseat covers likewise come in three sections for the seat and back that Velcro together and secure in place with chucks. (Separate covers are included for those headrests, too.) There are also slots for feeding the seat belt attachments through.

Maintenance & Heated/Cooled Seat Compatible

The covers are compatible with heated or air-cooled seats. But as a heads up, they’re also thick enough to slightly diminish the effects of the seat heating and cooling systems.

Given the fastidiousness required to install, you may be grateful that these faux-leather covers generally wipe or vacuum clean rather than needing to be fully washed.

Coverado recommends an occasional touch-up with leather oil to keep them gleaming. Also, if you order through the Coverado website, your purchase has an 18-month warranty.

Organization & Safety Points

These seat covers are designed for a universal fit, whether rolling in a truck, sedan, or SUV. They’re available in black, gray, beige, and black and gray. I loved the sleek look and feel of the black, which merged well with my car’s already black interior.

A rear pocket is sewn into the back of the front seats, meaning, you don’t forfeit organizational options by installing a cover.

Ensure you align the covers so that the airbag “blasting outlet” faces toward the door. These seat covers are designed not to interfere with airbags that deploy from within the front seats. But they are directional and must be installed correctly for that feature to work.

Installation & Critique

Hooks and “chucks” secure the seat rests. Those are hexagonal plastic inserts that catch the elastic straps and slip into the seat crevice or hook from behind the seats.

That setup requires reaching through your seats or working from behind the seat. Not all seat models are built with the ability to pass objects through that space. In this case, these covers may simply not fit.

Puzzling it all together and into place can take about an hour. It may also require a trip to the brand’s YouTube channel for an instructional video. But the easier clean-up of crumbs and little spills makes up for the time invested, in my opinion.

Conclusion: Timeless & Resilient

With a timeless, classy look and a resilient construction built to last, these covers stand out for their higher price point compared to many other options. However, the investment secures higher-end aesthetics and durability.

In a collection that includes car seat covers for the front and back of the vehicle, as well as the headrests, this is a full matching upgrade that protects the vehicle’s entire upholstery. Overall, this design’s faux leather holds up to abrasion and sun exposure, easily wipes clean, and looks sharp day after day.

For large vehicles that spend lots of time off road, the Cooper Tires Discoverer AT3 XLTs give great all-season traction. And they do so while maintaining good manners on the highway.

Sure, there’s no substitute for smart driving — but in icy, snowy conditions, winter tires can make a huge difference.
