The apparel brand Flylow wants your old snow bibs.

With fall weather rolling in, skiers can start prepping for the pow with a new resale platform from mountain apparel brand Flylow. The Denver-based company, which has been making ski wear and other outdoor threads since 2005, will now accept used gear for credit.

The program, called Leftover Land, allows you to mail in gear, including “lightly used” bibs from any brand, and receive credit toward online purchases through the Flylow website. It’s similar to the resale programs launched by other outdoor brands in recent years, including Arc’teryx and Patagonia.

To further entice skiers to participate, there’s the Flylow VIP Gear Locker. This will sell used kits “straight from the closets” of skiers Daron Rahlves and Flylow founder Dan Abrams. This will become available when the Leftover Land platform goes live on October 1.

“As an independent company, Flylow has the flexibility to continually look at ways where we can improve our efforts in sustainability while still making gear that can perform in the most demanding conditions,” Abrams said in a press release. “The creation of Leftover Land is a natural evolution for us.”

Flylow Buyback Program: How to Participate

Donated bibs will be resold by Flylow through the Leftover Land platform. Also, all proceeds from both the 2024 Bib Buyback Program and the Flylow VIP Gear Locker will be donated to Protect Our Winters, a non-profit devoted to environmental protection.

The coolest thing about the bib buyback is that Flylow will accept used bibs from any brand — not just its own stuff. To participate, request a shipping label (and even a box, if you need one) from Flylow Leftover Land. Upon receipt, the company will check out the threads, and offer credit toward a new purchase.

The credit offered will be a percentage of the MSRP, depending on the condition of the clothing. Here’s the credit breakdown from Leftover Land:

• New: 35%
• Excellent: 30%
• Good: 25%
• Fair: 20%
• Unusable/Donated: 15%

It’s also possible to trade in more than just bibs and apparel. However, there’s a $50 minimum retail value for anything sent to the brand. That rules out socks and water bottles, the brand said, but most Flylow gear is eligible for trade-in. However, there’s a limit of one credited item per customer — so I guess sending in 10 old bibs won’t fly.

To launch the new platform, Flylow partnered with Geartrade, which provides the technical and logistical support.
