Soft, comfortable socks are one of the greatest (and easiest) holiday gifts you can give. But through PAKA’s latest giveaway, if you buy a friend or loved one the brand’s Sock Gift Boxes, you might also be gifting them two round-trip “golden tickets” to Peru.

Winners of the Wonka-style giveaway will get airfare and a visit to PAKA’s flagship store in Plaza De Armas — where they’ll get a bunch of free PAKA gear.

Only one in 4,000 of the limited-edition Sock Gift Boxes is the lucky winner. But if, upon opening the box, you find two custom Peruvian patches inside, you might as well start singing “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket.” You can redeem those patches for your two round-trip flights to Peru.

The trip won’t just be to the PAKA headquarters and back, either. The brand promises an immersive tour of destinations around Cusco and iconic sites in the Andes Mountains. It’s a full-on, PAKA-sponsored vacation to the heart and soul of alpaca-based apparel.

PAKA Sock Gift Boxes

The alpaca fiber PAKA uses in the socks in its Sock Gift Boxes is “royal alpaca.” It’s ultra-fine and as soft as cashmere. It’s non-itchy, hypoallergenic, and naturally odor-resistant. On top of that, alpaca fiber is extremely warm. It’s three times lighter than sheep’s wool, but similarly traps heat and acts as a natural insulator.

PAKA launched its Sock Gift Boxes this season for the first time. They come in three different sets: the “Crew Box” that includes classic, cozy styles; the “Graphics Box” with patterned socks featuring mountains and alpacas (pictured above); or the “Thermals Box” with extra-warm socks meant for cold activities.

Wearing PAKA Supports Good Causes

If you’ve never heard of PAKA, the apparel brand uses fully traceable, sustainable alpaca fiber in all of its apparel. Everything is handmade in Peru by native Quechua women employed at four times the standard living wage. Every garment has a hand-woven “Inca ID” placed by the woman who made it.

PAKA’s alpaca fiber is also fully traceable back to where it’s from. You can scan a QR code that comes with your apparel, and it will tell you the exact coordinates where your fiber was sourced.

And, 1% of PAKA’s sales go toward improving the livelihoods of the farmers in Peru and regenerative alpaca practices through the International Alpaca Association. Another 1% is donated to providing college scholarships to young women in Peru. So, if you buy a Sock Gift Box for a friend or family member (or as a gift to yourself), you’re vicariously donating to good causes and fair wages in Peru.
