The Spyderco Lil’ Native has been around for a few years but just got updated with a Wharncliffe blade profile. Fans of the original Lil’ Native like it for its diminutive size, which is legal in most jurisdictions. Not to mention the high-quality S30V steel and Spyderco’s well-earned reputation for excellent construction and keen edge profile.

The Spyderco Lil’ Native Wharncliffe

Taking the Lil’ Native to the next level, Spyderco adds utility-level enhancements with the addition of a Wharncliffe blade profile. The Wharncliffe profile is known for exceptional force at the tip, which makes it great for self-defense and cutting power. As a result, it makes an excellent, well-rounded EDC option.

The 2.44-inch blade is legal in almost any jurisdiction, even in some of the strictest areas. But make sure to check your local laws and ordinances before carrying. Constructed of CPM S30V, the premium steel offers a good balance between toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance.

The Wharncliffe blade features a sweeping arch that meets the straight edge to provide an exceptionally keen point. Likewise, the full flat grind helps provide a sharp edge profile ideal for any cutting task. The blade is brought to bear utilizing the recognizable Trademark Spyderco Round Hole and rides on hand-polished phosphorous bronze washers.

Once open, the Lil’ Native is held in lockup at its full 5.86-inch overall length via Spyderco’s high-strength compression lock. Providing the user interface are peel-ply-textured G-10 handle scales, offering a secure grip on the knife during use. Nested stainless-steel liners ensure a strong base, while deep finger choils help lock the knife into the hand.

When closed, the Lil’ Native measures only 3.47 inches and weighs a light weight of 2.5 ounces. The knife is carried in pocket via a deep-pocket wire clip set up for right-hand tip-up carry. However, it is reversible for left-hand tip-up carry as well.
